It’s the day after Thanksgiving and one thing that honest big-C Conservatives should have expressed thanks for yesterday is Sarah Palin. Palin was a breath of fresh air in last year’s election campaign — she also breathed a big bunch o’ life into John McCain’s efforts, who found himself paired up against a Titanic-sized wave of destiny and looked pretty weak and used up in comparison. Palin was the pit bull, the rabid badger gnawing her way through all the tough issues like abortion, birthing Downs’ babies, the 2nd Amendment and so forth.

The Left is scared absolutely shitless of Sarah Palin. I always thought that it was because of her beliefs and her ability to express them without remorse. But after reading Robin of Berkeley’s piece at American Thinker, I see that it runs much deeper than that. A former hard-core big-L Liberal from whose eyes the scales have fallen, Robin explains what the Left is doing: They are “Wilding” her — just as they “Wild” anyone that doesn’t kowtow to liberal dogma. Here’s a taste of Robin’s thoughts, but you really owe it to yourself to go and read ALL of this one!

Then along came Sarah, and the attacks became particularly heinous. And I realized something even more chilling about the Left. Leftists not only sacrifice and disrespect women, but it’s far worse: many are perpetuators.

The Left’s behavior towards Palin is not politics as usual. By their laser-focus on her body and her sexuality, leftists are defiling her.

They are wilding her. And they do this with the full knowledge and complicity of the White House.

The Left has declared war on Palin because she threatens their existence. Liberals need women dependent and scared so that women, like blacks, will vote Democrat.

A strong, self-sufficient woman, Palin eschews liberal protection. Drop her off in the Alaskan bush and she’ll survive just fine, thank you very much. Palin doesn’t need or want anything from liberals — not hate crimes legislation that coddles her, and not abortion, which she abhors.

Palin is a woman of deep and abiding faith. She takes no marching orders from messiah-like wannabes like Obama.

And so the Left must try to destroy her. And they are doing this in the most malicious of ways: by symbolically raping her.

Just like a perpetuator, they dehumanize her by objectifying her body. They undress her with their eyes.

They turn her into a piece of ass.

Liberals do this by calling her a c__t, ogling her legs, demeaning her with names like “slutty flight attendant” and “Trailer Park Barbie,” and exposing her flesh on the cover of Newsweek.

{…}

The extreme Left still consider themselves warriors, righteous soldiers for their Marxist cause. With Palin, they use sexual violence as part of their military arsenal.

Palin is not the only intended victim. As Against Our Will described, the brutality is also aimed at men. By forcing men to witness Palin’s violation, the Left tries to emasculate conservative men and render them powerless.

{…}

It has been almost two years since I woke up and broke up with liberalism. During these many months, I’ve discovered that everything I believed was wrong.

But the biggest shock of all has been realizing that the Democratic Party is hardly an oasis for women. Now that it has been infiltrated by the hard Left, it’s a dangerous place for women, children, and other living things.

In the wilding of Sarah Palin, the Left shows its true colors. Rather than sheild the vulnerable, leftists will mow down any man, woman, or child who gets in their way. Instead of a movement of hope and change, it is a cauldron of hate.

President Obama has surrounded himself with radical Leftists and his administration is rife with their philosophy of misogyny, their stated goal to change everything, especially the very fabric of our nation, their determination to destroy what’s pure and good about the United States of America!

Sarah Palin is a giant speed bump in the highway of their statist objectives. She’s not just another woman politician — Sarah Palin is the real deal.

Move over Obamessiah — “It’s gonna take a woman to clean up <strike>this</strike> YOUR mess!”

After a Sunday AM new-show blitz and a Mon. eve. appearance with David Letterman, and with his Cap & Trade legislation stalled in Congress, getting more and more attention by folks terrified of huge tax increases for energy, and with his health care agenda being attacked by both right and left, what’s a good little Obamessiah to do? Why, go to the U.N. of course and overexpose himself some more. Lots more!

So, after deciding to become the first President of the United States to preside over a meeting of the UN Security Council on the 24th, proceeded by a couple of days hobnobbing with the diplomats in the General Assembly, what do ya think he would pick for his opening topic? The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan? Nope. The resurgence of Al-Qaeda and the Taliban? Nope. The looming terror threat of 12 Al-Qaeda sleeper agents on the loose right now in the U.S. giving the F.B.I. and Secret Service fits? Nope. The timid economic recovery and increasing unemployment within the context of the interconnected world economy? Nope. Well, Okie — what the hell was it then?

Climate change.

Bwwhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! You say. You got to be totally off your rocker. But wait — like Ginzu — there’s more. According to CBS News who quotes the Chosen One thus:

“It is true that for too many years, mankind has been slow to respond to or even recognize the magnitude of the climate threat. It is true of my own country as well,” Mr. Obama said at a climate change forum hosted by United Nation Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. “But this is a new day. It is a new era. And I am proud to say that the United States has done more to promote clean energy and reduce carbon pollution in the last eight months than at any other time in our history.”

Reread that last comment slowly . . . The hubris of this guy is astounding! Bet this next one bags our smoker-ion-chief a box o’ Cubans: Fidel Castro praises Obama on climate change — Noooooooo. Reeeeeally? Aw, shucks — Dude!

Barack Obama’s call for action on climate change and his admission that rich nations have a particular responsibility to lead has received strong praise from an unusual source — U.S. nemesis Fidel Castro.

The former Cuban leader on Wednesday called the American president’s speech at the United Nations “brave” and said no other American head of state would have had the courage to make similar remarks.

Actually, no other American head of state would have had the <strike>courage</strike> temerity to make similar remarks. After that tour de force, on the same day, he decided to tackle Israeli/Palestinian peace: the lack of progress on this is making him . . . ah, cranky.

“It is past time to stop talking about starting negotiations; it is time to move forward,” Mr. Obama said Tuesday after meeting with the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and the president of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly’s opening.

“Permanent status negotiations must begin and begin soon,” Mr. Obama said, flanked by Mr. Netanyahu and Mr. Abbas. “So my message to these two leaders is clear: despite all the obstacles, all the history, all the mistrust, we have to find a way forward.”

Today, he’s addressing the ENTIRE WORLD and telling them that Uncle Sam ain’t gonna be there for them anymore, not on his watch!

In his first address to the U.N. General Assembly, Obama sought to set a new tone in U.S. relations, moving away from the unilateralism of his predecessor, George W. Bush. He coupled conciliatory words about a “new era of engagement” with a summons for other nations to shoulder more of the burden.

“Those who used to chastise America for acting alone in the world cannot now stand by and wait for America to solve the world’s problems alone,” Obama said.

“Now is the time for all of us to take our share of responsibility for a global response to global challenges.”

In response to Obama’s speech Michelle Malkin writes:

Former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton noted Obama’s extraordinary self-referentialism mixed with Wilsonian naivete and anti-Bush subtext, and joked that the president “did everything but break out and ask ‘Can’t we all just get along?’”

There was a momentary delay before blood-stained, jihadi-enabling thug Moammar Gadhafi took the podium. He’s babbling about “climate change” and waving around the U.N. charter. Praises “our son” from Africa, Barack Obama.

It’s a cum-bye-ya world, don’t ya know? If you ask reeeal nice, and put some purty-please with some suga on it, them bad ol’ boys around the globe will just stop all that killin’, all that nuclear-bomb makin’, all them wemen-desecratin’ activities, join hands and create a Utopia right here on this ol’ Earth.

And, he ain’t done yet! Tomorrow — he presides over the UN Security Council meeting where my bet is he’ll officially announce at least his intention to unilaterally disarm the U.S. nuclear arsenal. That should get him some applause, oh ya betcha!

Can we wake up now? I’m not likin’ this nightmare . . .

The hatred of Sarah Palin by the Left is past the derangement level — it’s totally pathological. In evidence, they are now trying to bankrupt her and her family via endless trivial lawsuits. NRO has the skinny:

While holding elected officials accountable is laudable, most of the matters are beyond trivial. One of the complaints against her was for talking to reporters about the presidential campaign while she was in the governor’s office. Another objected to her office press secretary offering a statement to clarify a statement put out by her political action committee. The latest complaint is that Palin wore snow-machine gear advertising her husband Todd’s sponsor, Arctic Cat Inc, while “in her official duties as governor” when she served as the “official starter” of the race.

Ooooo — the travesty of it all!

The D.C. Examiner’s Noemie Emery asks and answers that question:

Now that the Obama presidency is nearing the 60-day mark, it’s time to thank those fastidious scribes on the left and the right who worked so hard to warn us against Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska, and the dire things that would surely occur if she ever got close to executive power.
How right they were to insist that she was unfit for high office. Let’s just imagine what she might have done:

As president, she might have caused the stock market to plunge over 2,000 points in the six weeks after she assumed office, left important posts in the Treasury unfilled for two months, been described by insiders as ‘overwhelmed’ by the office, and then gone on to diss the British Prime Minister on his first state visit, giving him, as one head of state to another, a set of DVDs plucked from the aisles of Wal Mart, a tasteful gift, even if they can’t be played on a TV in Britain. (Note, the Prime Minister, who is losing his eyesight, may even be blind in one eye).

As vice president, she might have told Katie Couric that when the stock market crashed in 1929, President Franklin D. Roosevelt went on TV to reassure a terrified nation. Or on her first trip abroad as Secretary of State, she might have, as the AP reported, “raised eyebrows on her first visit to Europe…when she mispronounced her “EU counterparts names and claimed U.S. democracy was older than Europe’s,” then gave the Russian minister a gag “reset” button, on which the word “reset” was translated incorrectly.

What a good thing that Palin, whom Christopher Buckley called “an embarrassment, and a dangerous one,” wasn’t in office to cause such debacles, and that we have Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and Hillary Clinton instead.

Shoot — if nothin’ else, the roasts, beer and coffee served at the White House would be a lot better!

The last Clark S. Judge column is now posted at Hugh Hewitt’s blog and in it he’s asking the questions that I have been struggling with in how to think about the ongoing failures of the GOP in the last two election cycles.

Why has our team repeatedly fumbled the ball on tax and spending cuts? Those failures cost the party the presidency in 1992 and the Congress in 2006. What’s going on here?

Why have we been so late to identify emerging issues like energy and the environment and late to ask what besides a government check and a new or bigger agency will address them?

In such areas as health care, housing and Social Security, decades of demographic, technological and economic changes are overwhelming and unraveling programs introduced in the 1930s and 40s. Why have we failed to sell the American people on any of our fixes to these failures of government?

Walt Whitman heard American singing, but do we? Have we lost touch with the American narrative, with the nuances of the nation’s culture, with the fabric of its life?

These are questions. They do not imply answers. But in campaign-consultant speak, the GOP has underperformed at the polls for sometime now. Why?

If you wander around the right side of the Blogosphere there is much post-election analysis and recrimination, especially toward John McCain for being not nearly conservative enough. Well folks, he sure wasn’t, but somehow he won the primaries necessary to become our candidate. We could have had Mitt Romney at the top of the ticket, but as John & Lowell have been documenting for the better part of two years at Article 6 Blog, the evangelicals in our midst just couldn’t help but deep six his campaign over his religion, LDS. So, once again we cut off our nose to spite our face, or trip over our lil’ Richard’s as the case may be.

One ray of sunlight shining on that particular SNAFU is the coalition of religious groups that worked so hard to get CA Prop 8 (CA constitutional amendment for reestablishment of traditional meaning of marriage) on the ballot and passed by a majority of voters. Catholics, evangelicals and yes, Mormons all played a big part in this success. Now, all are needing to pull together even closer to help each other stand up to the ever increasing onslaught of anti-Prop 8 agitators, who having lost at the ballot box are taking to the streets with noise, confusion and now even violence.

All caught on tape, the video shows one protester grabbing the styrofoam cross from Burgess’ hands. Another protesters is shown stomping on it. Burgess says she was struck on the head and spit on.

“The crowd was very angry that someone was here that they felt didn’t belong here,” Burgess said. “But I’ve lived in this city for 30 years.”

“I don’t want to keep it peaceful anymore,” one protester yelled. “We should fight! We should fight!” he shouted.

During a live interview with KPSP Local 2, protesters encircled Burgess. Yelling expletives and hateful slurs, the crowd turned their anger on our news crew. Many were angry that the woman was given a chance to express her opinions.

Your obedient Okie created a simple video for ProtectMarriage.com that runs on YouTube, and my YT profile has been continuously assaulted by the most vicious and profane comments that one could imagine. I simply delete them, and comments are disabled to keep the video page religion and children friendly — no need to expose the innocent to what orifice they can have stuffed with what object, or to learn all the common gutter names for anything/everything sexual. Before these LGBT whack-jobs decide to “fight”, they had better consider that there are a lot more of us than there are of them — and I’ll guarantee that we’re better armed. At A6B John comments on the protests and their actions against religion in general.

As I have argued I, as an Evangelical, have a moral obligation to come to the aid of the Mormons in the face of this sort of onslaught, but as the protests spread, I have a practical one as well. Simply put, we’re next. Mormons are the battlefront in what is all our battle. The opposition has used the force of the courts and the people of California have said “NO” – now they seek through intimidation and violence to do what they could not achieve legally. They wish to dictate our religious expression and practice to us – first the LDS and then the rest of us. We are not just defending the LDS here, we are defending ourselves.

But I digress a bit. I keep going to that Clark Judge list above; We conservatives must hone our message, it must be relevant to the times and to the young people of America. We must embrace the technologies of communication and build our own MoveOn.org’s and DailyKos’s — and we must think into the future so that we can leverage the technologies of 2012, and 2016 and beyond.

The other side will — if we don’t, we’re as dead as the dodo . . .

My Friend,

From the time I entered the Naval Academy at age seventeen I have been privileged and honored to serve my country.

Throughout my years of service, I’ve been faced with challenges where I could have taken the easy way out and given up. But I’m an American and I never give up. Instead, I choose to show courage and stand up and fight for the country I love. Today, I am asking you to stand with me and to fight for our country’s future.

Our country faces enormous challenges and our next president must be ready to lead on day one. My lifetime of experience has prepared me to lead our great nation. I’m prepared to bring solutions to our economic challenges, bring our troops home in victory and improve our nation’s healthcare system.

Time and time again, my country has saved my life and I owe her more than she has ever owed me. I have chosen to show my gratitude through a life of service to our country and tomorrow, you will have a choice before you.

I humbly ask you to make the choice that will allow me to serve my country a little while longer by casting your vote to elect me as your next President of the United States.

Finally, I ask that you never forget that much has been sacrificed to protect our right to vote. We must never forget those Americans who, with their courage, with their sacrifice, and with their lives, have protected our freedom. It is my great hope that you will exercise your right to vote as an American tomorrow.

I thank you for your kind support, your dedication to our cause, and most importantly I thank you for your vote.

With sincere appreciation,

John McCain

Another statement from the interview earlier this year that Barack Obama gave to the San Fransisco Chronicle, where he also said that his plan would bankrupt the Coal Industry.

You know, when I was asked earlier about the issue of coal, uh, you know — Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket. Even regardless of what I say about whether coal is good or bad. Because I’m capping greenhouse gases, coal power plants, you know, natural gas, you name it — whatever the plants were, whatever the industry was, uh, they would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money. They will pass that money on to consumers.

The Obama plan in a nutshell:

Raise your taxes

Raise your electric bill

Raise your gasoline bill

Raise your home heating bill

Raise your taxes, again

And, yet again for good measure

Why? Because The One knows better than you how you should spend your hard-earned money. And, because he wants a big ol’ bunch of it to give away to those that don’t pay income taxes.

Putting Big Coal out of business could bankrupt our economy. Coal is one of our most precious strategic energy reserves. We already know how Obama feels about those that mine this precious resource — those bitter folk who cling to their guns and religion. But, what about all you voters outside the inner city but not in rural areas? Obama, he say — “I’m not interested in the suburbs. The suburbs bore me.”

So, all ye bitter gun and religion-clingin’ folk in small-town America, and all ye who deign to live outside the tenements of the inner cities or the skyscrapers of the elites — it’s time to elect a president that isn’t hell-bent on the destruction of America as we know it, who isn’t hell-bent on CHANGE for change’s sake, who doesn’t believe in Redistribution of Wealth, who doesn’t believe that an infant born alive in a botched abortion should be left to die as that was the original intent of the “mother”, time for one who doesn’t use thugs and thuggish acts to stifle contrary opinion.

It’s time to vote for John McCain.

Don’t get discouraged — it’s what they want.

Don’t get fatigued — it’s not over ’till it’s over.

Hey folks — Glen M from I-don’t-know-where left this comment last night. I though that I would share it with you as I totally agree! — ‘Okie’

If Senator Obama wins this election, the following is what it has taken to get a very questionable, extremely inexperienced, very junior first time Senator past the mark:

1. Senator Obama’s campaign is outspending the Senator McCain’s campaign 4 to 1 or more in some locations. This is due to Senator Obama backing out of an agreement he made with Senator McCain.
2. Senator Obama’s campaign has opened up about 700 offices nation-wide versus less than 100 than Senator McCain’s campaign has opened up.
3. The mainstream media has been completely biased against Senator McCain.
4. Biased organizations, such as ACORN, have received contributions from Senator Obama, have been openly supporting Senator Obama, and are under investigation for committing voter registration fraud in multiple states favoring Senator Obama.
5 An enormous number of biased celebrities have been supporting Senator Obama and speaking out against Senator McCain.
6. Even though Congress is very unpopular, both sides are controlled by the democrats and have been making biased statements against Senator McCain.
7. Senator McCain is disadvantaged because of the unpopularity of the incumbent President.
8. All four of the debate moderators lean to the left and were not 100% fair.

Even with all of the biased and unfair things mentioned above that are running against Senator McCain, Senator Obama only has a narrow lead. Should he not be way out in front? I have heard people state that on the news from both campaigns. That should tell you something. Also, Senator Obama pulled a cheap shot on Senator McCain and the American public in regards to campaign financing. Both campaigns agreed to use public financing during the presidential campaign. At the last moment, Senator Obama backed out of his agreement and took private financing, giving Senator Obama a significant advantage over Senator McCain in financing his campaign. In addition, Senator Obama is not being totally open as to where all his contributions are coming from. But even though Senator Obama took a sucker punch and tricked Senator McCain and all Americans by backing out of his agreement, Senator McCain is keeping with his word and using public financing. This is severely disadvantaging Senator McCain’s campaign financing by putting much lower caps on the amount of money he will have available. This is the reason Senator Obama can outspend Senator McCain 4 to 1. This also shows that Senator Obama does not keep his campaign promises, just like his past campaign promises.

Just imagine what it will be like when you have both the House of Representatives and the Senate controlled by the democrats, and Senator Obama in the Whitehouse signing everything that comes across his desk from them. In other words, the person writing the check will also be the one cashing it. There will be no “checks and balances”, especially if the democrats pick up a few more seats in the Senate and it becomes filibuster-proof, which means they will have a monopoly. Again, there will be no checks and balances. We will have higher taxes, more government, and fewer rights. They have already promised all of those things. You will have a government that will tax the people that are creating the jobs so they can “spread the wealth around”. Who do you think creates the jobs in this country? Have you ever seen a business owned by a poor person? Are they the ones starting small businesses and creating jobs? Obviously not! So we have established the fact that the people that own the small businesses and create the jobs are NOT the poor. So lets talk about what is going to happen when they start taxing the people that do own the small businesses that create the jobs.

So what do you think will happen when they start taxing the small business owners? First, jobs will be lost. They will not be able to afford to keep the same amount of people they have now – they will have to let people go. In addition, they will not be able to expand their businesses and hire more people. The second thing that will happen is that prices will go up. Do you think businesses will not raise the cost of their products and services to offset the extra taxes they have to pay? This should be obvious. The prices will go up on everything and will affect everybody – to include the middle class and the poor. When you go to the grocery store, the food prices will be higher. When you go buy a car, the prices will be higher. When you go to the department store the prices are going to be higher. Put yourself in the shoes of a business owner; if your expenses go up, would you not raise the price of your products to pay for them? Of course you would! And taxes are an expense.

Now lets talk about presidential qualifications. When a federal employee or a member of the military has a need to have access to classified materials, they would need to get a security clearance. A security clearance attempts to certify that an individual is of high moral character and does not pose a security risk. If a federal employee or a member of the military admits to using a dangerous drug, such as cocaine, they will not be eligible for a security clearance. In addition, an admitted cocaine user would not be able to get in the military and if he or she is a federal employee, he or she would be moved to a position of lesser responsibility and not have access to classified materials. Senator Obama has admitted to using cocaine in his book that he wrote. As a candidate for president, should he not be held up to the same standards of a federal employee or a member of our military? As President, he is going to be exposed to an enormous amount of classified materials, have his finger on the nuke button, and be the commander in chief of the strongest military in the world. Would you not want someone in that position that can qualify for a security clearance?

Another point I would like to make is in regards to Senator Obama’s experience, which is a drop in the bucket compared to Senator McCain’s. With the world and the economy in such a delicate position, I cannot imagine why anyone would not want the most experienced person in the Whitehouse. Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, and even Senator Obama’s running mate, Senator Joe Biden, have made statements to the fact that Senator Obama is not experienced enough to be President and that the presidency is not the type of job for on-the-job training. They also said that Senator McCain brings a lifetime of experience to the table. Senator Obama’s running mate, Senator Biden, even said he would even be honored to run “with” his friend John McCain. These individuals are now claiming that they said that during the primaries when they were running against Senator Obama. Does that mean they were lying then, or now? Senator Obama claimed that he had more diverse foreign policy experience because he lived overseas as a kid. Living overseas does not give you foreign policy experience, unless you are an Ambassador, which he was not. If it did, then Senator John McCain would again best Senator Obama’s record since he has lived overseas being a member of the military.

What issue or issues are you going to base your voting decision on? Will it be the economy? National defense? Education? There are so many out there. Because of the current economic situation, a large number of you are going to base your decision on who is best for the economy. I would hope that I have answered this question for you earlier on in this article. Such as pointing out which candidate has promised to raise taxes and spend more reducing jobs and raising the cost to live. But just in case I have not, I have a couple additional items for you to think about. If you look at all of the campaign promises on Senator Obama’s web site, you will see hundreds of them. How is he going to pay for them? I think I answered that already. But, if you add of the costs of all of them, mathematically it is going to cost us a lot more than he will be able to raise in taxes. So many of these are going to be just like so many of his previous campaign promises – they won’t get done. Maybe the economy is not the best issue to use in making a decision for president. What about national defense? In my opinion, if you don’t have a secure nation, the rest of the issues are moot. With Russia and China outspending us two fold to build up their military; with Iran and North Korea toying around with nukes and making threats; with Russia making friends and conducting military exercises not too far from our back door in Venezuela; with Russia helping Iran build nuclear processing material plants; and with the terrorist threat growing in Pakistan (a nuclear country), Afghanistan, Africa, and several other countries throughout the world, I want the most experienced and tested person in that office. Not some junior Senator that has absolutely no experience in national security. The economy is important, but national defense is a must. Remember, if our country is not secure, then the economy means nothing, our freedom is in jeopardy, and our lives as we know them today could easily be drastically changed in a moments notice. Just ask the citizens of the country of Georgia. One last point: Have you see who is openly supporting Senator Obama in the news? Iran and the terrorist groups Hamas and Hezbollah have made public statements that they would prefer Sen. Obama to win. Go figure.

So after reading this, where do you stand? The differences in these two candidates are very apparent. On one hand, you have an individual with many years of applicable “real world” experience, has been a public servant and leader for about 50 years, has a proven record to reduce taxes and government spending, and is dedicated to growing the US economy and jobs. On the other hand, you have an individual with very little experience, questionable associations, has a proven record to increase taxes, government spending, and earmarks, and has promised to increase taxes and government spending. As I said at the beginning of this article, I cannot imagine why anyone in their right mind, after doing a real comparison of the two candidates, would vote for Senator Obama. I admit, he presents himself well and has a good appearance, as long as he has a teleprompter to read from. So the bottom line is what do you want in the next president, appearance or substance?
