Sarah Palin is the REAL DEAL! She reminds me of my late Mom, all independent, resourceful, super-strong and stuff. Mom showed her heavy metal when she stepped up to the challenge of taking care of my father as he suffered with Alzheimer’s, and again when she made the fateful decision to stop taking all her meds the day after Christmas, choosing to go off to the great beyond to be with her beloved Duke rather than live weakly here with the rest of us.

Don’t know if Sarah Palin is ready to be the Chief Executive of the U.S., but the one we got ourselves now proves everyday that he’s not ready, and not worthy to boot! S.E. Cupp writes at the Daily News that the Left hates Palin so much because she’s so gosh darn happy!

And then it hit me. The reason Palin has become such a lightening rod, a kingmaker and a punching bag, a celebrity and a power player, is simple. It’s because she’s so gosh darn happy.

For her fans, like the ones I had the pleasure of meeting in Chicago, she’s refreshingly upbeat and resilient, the bubbly friend from childhood who was always great at cheering you up and cheerleading you on.

But for her detractors, nothing raises the ire of cynical liberals more than a happy-go-lucky, totally unburdened, freethinking and self-assured conservative woman who has everything she wants and then some. And without anyone’s help.

You know, if you are a woman and aren’t a part of the entitlement frame of mind, Leftists don’t/can’t understand you at all. Whining, my-me-mine dependency is what gives them power over those same folks, and having power over those they disdain as “inferior”, or as Katie Couric said a week or so ago, are the “unwashed masses” of the heartland. These would be “masters” of our universe are elitist in their own minds. For me, pompous prigs is more like it.

So when someone like a Sarah Palin “goes off the feminist reservation” and does something as heretical as not aborting a fetus that she knew would be born with Down’s Syndrome, and then relishes taking care of that precious little life, and at the same time runs a state, runs for Vice President, writes a best selling book, campaigns for and helps to get elected 30 out of 45 candidates she supports in the midterms, and puts on the most successful show launch on The Learning Channel — all without seemingly missing a single beat — it just drives the Left nuts!

They can’t take it! It calls into question ALL that they believe about women, and about what being a feminist is all about.

You go girl!

What do they put in the water over at Liberal-Land? Geez! Allahpundit at Hot Air called this exchange Nuclear War! And Megyn’s not the only conservative woman with teeth bared and on the move. Michele Bachmann is up by “up by 9″ in her re-election campaign, Carly Fiorina and Meg Whitman are both leading in the polls — OUT HERE IN CALI!!!! — and Allahpundit again asks of Sarah Palin’s current fund-raising & spending, “What kind of ex-governor-turned-commentator spends several hundred thousand dollars developing a direct mailing list?”

Uh . . . the kind that has some big plans, maybe? I ask, you decide. Now to ice this cake, get all funky wit’ yo’ groove with Zoe and his croonin’ to his Right Wingin’ Women.

We have a primary out here in La La Land today, along with several other states including Nevada and Arkansas. Over at The Kitchen Cabinet they have prepared a list of critical Senate races and are tracking the primaries, and in the fall, will cover the general election.

Keep one thing in mind if you are not feeling the current zeitgeist of our Obama/Pelosi/Reid-controlled federal government:

VOTE REPUBLICAN!

Every race. And, if there are multiple candidates in the primary, vote for the Republican that is most likely to win — even if he/she isn’t ideologically “pure”. Putting up a weak candidate against the Democrat opponent is a vote for that Democrat — and also a vote to keep Pelosi in control of the House and Reid in control of the Senate (should he survive, and his chances of that are greater if the Tea Party candidate is elected to run against him!)

House cleaning can come later — this time it’s gotta be in it, to win it!

Failing that, get ready for more bowing and scraping to our enemies, dissing of our allies, a nuclear armed Iran, Cap & Tax, more federal takeovers of private enterprise, illegal immigrant amnesty, and ever-more-expanding government employment instead of increases in private-sector employment — along with an entitlement express train run amok!

That speech was in reaction to this — Mexico President Felipe Calderon speaking before the US Congress, lecturing US about the immorality and wrongness of our immigration laws, and castigating the state of Arizona for actually trying to enforce those same laws — all with the beaming, standing-ovation approval of the Democrats. As DrewM over at Ace puts it,

“The Vice President and the Speaker of the House joined in? Just when you think Democrats can’t sink any lower in their contempt for America, they find a way to surprise you.”

Rush asks, “Is this guy not just a full-fledged idiot?” Sounds like it to me!

Hmmm, what would our feckless leader do? Why, be the bestest of buddies, that’s what! With a splashy state dinner, all lovey-doveyness to the max!
