Obama’s Green Jobs Czar Van Jones: Republicans Are “A**holes” & President To Address Nation’s Shcools
And, Barack Obama isn’t an “A** hole.
Well, the way things are going, coulda fooled me . . .
Glenn Beck is saying: No One Took The Radical Barack Obama at His Word
Beck’s gettin’ out there — but he does seem to be speaking truth to power. To paraphrase Beck, “you can’t blame Barack Obama as he made it perfectly clear what his agenda and focus would be — to fundamentally change the United States of America.”
Part of that fundamental change is an unprecedented call to ALL public schools in the US to have their students watch a special address to the nation’s children by President Barack Obama on Sept. 8th, at 12pm EST. The following document was sent out by the US Dept. of Education to guide teachers on how to interpret the President’s comments to their students, and on how to lead their thinking processes to get the White House’s message across to our nation’s youth.
Gotta love some of those bullet points:
• Why is it important that we listen to the President and other elected officials, like the mayor, senators, members of congress, or the governor?
• Why is what they say important?
• As students listen to the speech, they could think about the following:
• What is the President trying to tell me?
• What is the President asking me to do?
At the document site one public school leader responds:
As a K-6 public school leader, I’m choosing to not participate in President Obama’s address to students. Our 420 students will not watch the President’s speech while at school. I would never allow anyone, not the Mayor, Governor, State Representative, or President to address my students without first reviewing and approving the content of what he/she is presenting. Why would I change the standard just because the President is addressing the students? He, more than anyone has an agenda! It is not my job as a school leader to indoctrinate our students. My job is to ensure our students receive a high quality education in a safe environment that promotes character development and enthusiastic, lifelong learning through a cooperative relationship with parents, students, and the community.
More reaction from a former teacher:
I do not believe any President, Republican or Democrat, should be talking to students nationwide. If this were a Republican President speaking, Democrats would be outraged. Is President Obama’s ego so huge that he feels he needs to speak to the children to encourage studying???? What an insult to parents! President Obama should worry about his own children and leave ours alone. As a former teacher, I believe that this type of indoctrination, although subtle, does not belong in the classroom, and teachers should not be sharing their political views with students and that includes college campuses. Students in college are afraid to write papers that disagree with the professor’s views because there has been so much political intrusion on college campuses by many professors. I, not the government, taught my children to write their papers based on their views, even if it meant the Professor’s wouldn’t like it. Boycott September 8th!! We have enough government intrusion in our lives. The President of the US does not need to tell us how to encourage our children to study!!
In yesterday’s Hugh Hewitt interview with Victor Davis Hanson there was this reaction from VDH:
Well, I mean, this is what, all he has to do is put a red cover, and he’s in China, and a green cover, and he’s in Libya. This is what totalitarian societies do. They reach out to children in the schools who don’t have any choice. The teacher apparently can’t say you know what? I don’t want to do this, or a child can’t say I don’t want to read this, because it’s part of a mandated curriculum. It’s…and this is happening, remember, at a time when his polls are crashing, so you get the impression that last week, it was to invoke God and say that people who were against health care were not properly religious, and now it’s to go over the heads of everybody to the children. You know, this administration, we saw this in the campaign with the Latinate, Vero Possumus, yes we can, this is our moment that the seas will stop rising, the planet still start cooling. There was this whole narcissistic, messianic sense of himself. And it’s kind of, it is creepy. That’s a perfect word for it.
Creepy? You damn sure got that!!!!!!
As I heard a pundit, I think it was Hugh, say yesterday, “Ask not what President Obama can do for you, ask what you can do for President Obama!”
Michelle Malkin reminds us about the Prez’s Pal Bill Ayers who “declares education ‘the motor-force of revolution’”:
I thought this would be a useful refresher as President Obama’s September 8 junior lobbyist recruitment speech approaches. It’s his Chicago pal Bill Ayers’ 2006 speech at the World Economic Forum in Caracas, Venezuela.
Get with the program plebes — It really is ALL ABOUT THE “O”!
Which does beg the question — Who are the “A”-holes now?
