I saw this on Drudge this AM and read Camille Paglia’s harsh critique of the Obama advisers. So harsh, in fact, that for her they shouldn’t be part of the administration any more, if ever they should have in the first place.

Yes, free the president from his flacks, fixers and goons — his posse of smirky smart alecks and provincial rubes, who were shrewd enough to beat the slow, pompous Clintons in the mano-a-mano primaries but who seem like dazed lost lambs in the brave new world of federal legislation and global statesmanship.

Heads should be rolling at the White House for the embarrassing series of flubs that have overshadowed President Obama’s first seven weeks in office and given the scattered, demoralized Republicans a huge boost toward regrouping and resurrection. (Michelle, please use those fabulous toned arms to butt some heads!)

She then goes on to lament President Obama’s poor luck at being saddled with such incompetence, and for the administration’s war against Rush Limbaugh, all the fault of said idiots too, no doubt — on and on she whines as if the Chosen One his own self has had nothing to do with choosing those that are closest to him, that are feeding him this constant stream of horse-shit counsel.

Purple Avenger over at Ace sums this all up nicely:

The Paglias of the world can’t envision a scenario where Obama is to blame for anything – he inexplicably possesses a tautological purity of intent for them, despite a background and associations suggesting the man is about as pure of intent as Carlo Gambino.

I find it impossible to believe that the most “media connected” president ever, who still has a Blackberry, isn’t wired in on what’s going on within his administration. Chances are someone even leaked Paglia’s column to them in draft form and Obama knew about it before it even went to press.

Its not a lack of communication, its a lack of character.
