Wishing All A Very Meaningful Christmas

It’s a chilly 52 degrees and rainy here in Santa Monica this Christmas morning. The dog walk at 7AM was, shall we say, “interesting”. Looking at the country’s weather map, we’re very fortunate. What can I say? We’re weather wimps here in SoCal.

So, before the day’s events begin to unfold, I just want to wish all a very Merry Christmas and leave you with an amazing image from the Hubble telescope that seems so appropriate to the season, along with the Gospel of Luke’s recounting of the announcement of the Christ child’s birth to the shepherds that were tending their flocks.

“And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them,
and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold,
I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe
wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude
of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”
