He’s not a part of the Obama campaign, and says that he does not speak for Barack, but nevertheless, Jesse Jackson is over in France telling the Europeans that under an Obama administration that Israel can basically grab its collective ankles and prepare to take a big one up their “Zionist” wazzoo! What a guy that Jesse. From the New York Post:

PREPARE for a new America: That’s the message that the Rev. Jesse Jackson conveyed to participants in the first World Policy Forum, held at this French lakeside resort last week.

He promised “fundamental changes” in US foreign policy – saying America must “heal wounds” it has caused to other nations, revive its alliances and apologize for the “arrogance of the Bush administration.”

The most important change would occur in the Middle East, where “decades of putting Israel’s interests first” would end.

Jackson believes that, although “Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades” remain strong, they’ll lose a great deal of their clout when Barack Obama enters the White House.

“Obama is about change,” Jackson told me in a wide-ranging conversation. “And the change that Obama promises is not limited to what we do in America itself. It is a change of the way America looks at the world and its place in it.”

Jackson goes out of his way to say that he isn’t an Obama confidant or adviser, but he also goes out of his way to state his closeness with the Chosen One.

Jackson warns that he isn’t an Obama confidant or adviser, “just a supporter.” But he adds that Obama has been “a neighbor or, better still, a member of the family.” Jackson’s son has been a close friend of Obama for years, and Jackson’s daughter went to school with Obama’s wife Michelle.

“We helped him start his career,” says Jackson. “And then we were always there to help him move ahead. He is the continuation of our struggle for justice not only for the black people but also for all those who have been wronged.”

Like the Palestinians, huh Jesse? I don’t see how any Jew that wants to see the state of Israel continue to exist can cast a vote for Barack Obama. But hey, that’s just me . . . Joshuapundit calls it The Jewish Stockholm Syndrome. I’ll give him the last word:

There’s a verse in Deuteronomy 30:19 traditionally read at Yom Kippur services that says: “I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Therefore choose life, so that you and your descendants may live.”

The current election underlines the divide between those Jews who’ve embraced a culture of life and those who’ve embraced a culture of death and continue to be hostages to their Leftist captors, no matter how many betrayals have occurred..always to their intense shock and surprise, when they finally realize it.

It goes beyond mere party identification and cuts to the core of whom someone is and what they believe in their heart of hearts.

And the most bitterly ironic joke of all is that someone like a Sarah Palin or a Pastor John Hagee would be demonized by people who claim to represent `Jewish values’ but who lack even a remote clue as to what those values actually are.

Instead, they embrace and articulate the values of people who mean them no good whatsoever.

Like I said, classic Stockholm….
