The “Obama Youth” — Just a Singin’ Their Little Obama Song in Venice, CA

As the little movie starts out — somewhere in Venice, CA, in a private home, a grassroots effort — or some bullshit like that! SoCal-West-side-Kiddies signing the praises of the Chosen One, Barack Obama — It reminds one of little Chinese youth singing to Mao . . .

Stifle your gag reflex if you choose to watch:

As Michell Malkin remarks, “To paraphrase the Other Michelle, this Mao-like music is not helping my children. Or my ears.”

Mine either. It’s creeping out The Anchoress!

This child has a lovely voice. The song is creeping me out.

“We’re gonna spread happiness! We’re gonna spread freeeeeeedom! Obama…”

It creeped me out in 2000 when people stood on a streetcorner handing out lyrics and singing songs about how Hillary Clinton was “a human statue of liberty…” who would solve all the world’s problems.

It creeps me out even more to see children exploited – to serenade and “lighten the community” – about Dear Leader Obama, and the glorious “we” who are going to spread “happiness.” Or, more accurately, the glorious “they” who will spread happiness – partly, it seems, through control of media.

Because “spreading happiness,” apparently, is the role of government. Not to protect the shores, build the infrastructure and get out of the way, but to make us “happy.”

This has more than a little whiff of Havana and Moscow about it, sorry.

Me too! As for all that “grassroots” stuff — the production values alone send the BS meter off the scale. Confederate Yankee has more:

While described as a grassroots effort, Kathy Sawada, who posted the video and can been seen directing the children in the video, is a bit more than just an enthusiastic music teacher you might find in your average public school.

Sawada is a teacher at an elite and expensive Colburn School of Performing Arts in Los Angeles as part of the Piano faculty. Colburn just built a $120 million 12-story high-rise addition for their musicians.

Does a concert-quality musician in an elite school in the middle of the most ego-centric city in the United States count as a “grassroots” effort?

A commenter on that post has it pegged pretty good:

This is scary. All these kids need are brown shirts and swastikas on their arms and they could be singing for Hitler.

Like we often say around here, “In Obama land, it’s all about the ‘O’.” Or as the old song says:

Out here in La La Land, not much has changed in the past 30-40 years. The sixties radicals have put the American culture on life support but just haven’t managed to finish the job. They are all looking toward Obama and his tidal wave of young voters to put them over the top.

There’s even more of them — and they’re all a singin’ too, and the song’s just as lame.

I think I had better get serious about cleaning and oiling my dad’s old semi-auto 12-gauge and pick up some 00 magnum loads — if Obama loses, these folks just might be dangerous!
