World Trade Center on 9/11It was seven years ago today . . .

My goodness, was it really seven long years ago that the attacks of 9/11 happened? Was it actually seven years ago that I woke up, turned on the computer and checked Drudge and saw the first image of the first tower on fire? Was it seven long years ago that I rushed into the living room, turning on the TV just in time to see the second jumbo jet slam into the second World Trade Center tower?

Seven long years ago . . . at least half of the American people seemed to have forgotten. At lease half are preoccupied with their lives and don’t want to recognize that this danger to our country, or society, our very way of life, still exists and still wants to kill massive numbers of us. As Reuters reports, a lot of those outside the U.S. seem to be conflicted as to who was the perpetrator of those attacks.

It wasn’t a fairy tale. It wasn’t a fabrication. It wasn’t a mass illusion. It was the most deadly foreign attack on American soil in our history. Much sorrow, much pain, much loss!

There was also much heroism and bravery on that fateful day. 9/11 has changed us as a country. 9/11 has changed . . . everything.

We must never forget!
