You can bet your butt that Al Gore and the Holy Order of Global Warming Alarmists wish this were an April 1 story instead of a Sept. 1 article: Sun Makes History: First Spotless Month in a Century

The sun has reached a milestone not seen for nearly 100 years: an entire month has passed without a single visible sunspot being noted.

The event is significant as many climatologists now believe solar magnetic activity – which determines the number of sunspots — is an influencing factor for climate on earth.

According to data from the NOAA’s National Geophysical Data Center, the last time such an event occurred was June of 1913. Sunspot data has been collected since 1749.

In the past 1000 years, three previous such events — the Dalton, Maunder, and Spörer Minimums, have all led to rapid cooling. On was large enough to be called a “mini ice age“. For a society dependent on agriculture, cold is more damaging than heat. The growing season shortens, yields drop, and the occurrence of crop-destroying frosts increases.

Guess that’s why they decided to rename their cause from Global Warming to Climate Change — too bad they don’t realize, or rather acknowledge, that Climate Change is a natural phenomena. It’s happened constantly in the past of Earth’s history, and despite our meddling, will happen again in Earth’s future.

We pathetically short-lived humans will just have to learn to deal with that. And then again, what fun is there in that attitude, when you can get the twittering masses all worked up and scared witless and then get them to agree to be taxed and taxed and taxed again — all to avert something that either won’t happen, or will, regardless.

Polar bears in Miami — now there’s something that you don’t see everyday. But, if the sun doesn’t get all fired up and active soon, maybe you will!
