What was rumored yesterday is confirmed today — ol’ Big Al Gore has won the Nobel Peace Prize and is being encouraged to once again run in the ‘08 Presidential race. I can hear Hillary’s screeching already, and that sho’ ‘nuf ain’t pretty! Maybe someone could get her a big slab o’ polar bear to chew on, or somethin’ . . .

Of course, it’s not all rose petals in Gore land, with some in the environmental community that don’t actually believe his alarmist caterwauling of a film has struck the correct tone.

“Awarding it to Al Gore cannot be seen as anything other than a political statement. Awarding it to the IPCC is well-founded,” said Bjorn Lomborg, author of “The Skeptical Environmentalist.

He criticized Gore’s film as having “some very obvious mistakes, like the argument that we’re going to see six meters of sea-level rise,” he said.

“They (Nobel committee) have a unique platform in getting people’s attention on this issue, and I regret they have used it to make a political statement.”

Shoot, even the Pres is excited for Big Al. Guess he figures if the big guy is out west here hob nobbin’ with the Hollywood elite and makin’ his little hysterical enviro-horror flicks, he’ll be doin’ less damage back in D.C.

So, let’s all give ol’ Al a big round o’ congrats for taking the Anthropogenic Climate Change Disaster Myth to new and ever greater proportions! And also a big round for the Nobel committee, which once again shows us just how meaningful a Nobel Prize, isn’t.
