As regular readers know by now, each week there is a contest held by the Watcher of Weasels that includes their own posts as submitted by the Council Members and also non-council posts submitted by each one on the Council. I voted for the top two place winners in both categories this week and actually got the order correct in the Council results.

Winners on the Council side for this week are Cosmic Ironies by Bookworm Room, a lovely remembrance of her family caught up in the maelstrom that was WWII and the Holocaust, with a twist at the end that will raise your hackles a bit, while coming in second is The Human Touch by Big Lizards, which makes the case that we probably are going to have to rely more on a “hands on” approach to security rather than our now almost total reliance on machines. Definitely worth a read and some time to contemplate what Dafydd is proposing.

On the non-Council side the top post was Rafael Medoff: Columbia “Invites Hitler to Campus” — As it Did in 1933 by History News Network, which took on the invite to Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmedinejad — which several of us did as well — in a telling historical context. That’s two black eyes for Columbia in my book! Coming in second is Islam and Marxism — A Marriage Made In Allah’s Socialist Paradise by Dr. Sanity, (my 1st place vote) that makes the case for exactly what it states in the title.

I got at least three second place votes for my entry about Columbia’s hosting the the Iranian rat, which beat last week when I got zip!
