Yesterday we covered the request by ol’ Mahmoud to visit Ground Zero in NYC, which was quickly and loudly denounced by the GOP candidates, Giuliani, Romney and Thompson, and finally by Hillary her own self, (thanks Hil — hope you really meant it, but who would ever know?) The request for permission and security for his visit was finally denied, but today, according to WABC, the Iranians are saying that don’t mean squat!

Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad requested to visit Ground Zero during an upcoming trip to New York. That request was rejected Wednesday. But a source tells Eyewitness News that the decision may not stop him.

A law enforcement source says the Iranian mission to the United Nations has informed the Secret Service that the Iranian president intends to visit Ground Zero Monday at 10 a.m.

The source says regardless of the NYPD’s rejection of the request for a Ground Zero tour, Iran’s president and his entourage will be accompanied by a Secret Service protective detail, a detail provided to all heads of state when they visit the United States.

OK, what’s it gonna take here? Maybe the governor needs to call out the National Guard and surround the place. That’d send the proper signal. Maybe the city could authorize a protest by ex-military to form a ring around the site — would take a lot of folks, but . . . Maybe the populace of NYC needs to show up en mass and tell the little rat-faced “F”_er to “Beat it!” Or better yet, give him a proper New Yorker-style two-word greeting!

The request was rejected Wednesday afternoon in a meeting which included NYPD, Secret Service and Port Authority officials, who said the site is closed to visitors because of construction. They said requests for the Iranian president to visit the immediate area would also be opposed by the NYPD on security grounds.

His request should be opposed on humanitarian and moral grounds, at the very least on the grounds of NY and US pride! That the leader of a country that is the largest state-supporter of terror would be allowed to visit and speak at this site should be unconscionable to all Americans. Evidently due to UN charter provisions the US can’t prevent his entry into the country to appear at the UN. However, it should be made very clear to Iran that his itinerary will consist of the shortest route from airport to the UN building and back again. Let him sleep on the plane.

Perhaps he needs to be constantly challenged to “explain” why his country’s agents were in Syria this last July teaching the Syrians how to load chemical and nerve agents onto SCUD missiles. Would be fun to hear him worm his way out of that — not fun at all to hear what the evil little former kidnapper wants to spout off about at the WTC site!
