Facing Patraeus & Crocker — Dems Can’t Handle The Truth!
From the Democratic reaction to yesterday’s reports to the House by General Petraeus and Ambassador Crocker they showed up with minds made up — and nothing said by either of these two men were going to make even a tiny chink in their Progressive constructs of doom and gloom regarding all things Iraq. Among the worst of the worst, Florida congressman Bob Wexler and Orange County, CA’s Loretta Sanchez — dimmest of the Dems?
Congressman Wexler
“We’ve heard a lot today about America’s credibility…How many more men and women will (be) sacrificed to protect our so-called credibility?”
What an idiot! Evidently, to a Dem-wit Congressman, there’s never been a valid reason for a military death, ever. It’s naive beyond reason to believe that our radical Islamic enemies are going to just go away and never bother us again if we only high-tail it out of Iraq and Afghanistan. Dean Barnett says it better than I:
As it should have. Bob Wexler, almost certainly unwittingly, summed up the Democrats’ biggest current problem by uttering the phrase, “Our so-called credibility.” For men like Wexler, things like honor and credibility are foreign concepts. The New York Times editors can blithely condemn Iraq’s Sunnis to genocide because honor and credibility mean nothing to them.
“Our so-called credibility” – with that little phrase, Bob Wexler brilliantly illuminated the preening narcissism and partisan blindness that afflicts the far left of the American body politic. It’s not our “so-called” credibility. It’s our actual credibility. And honor. What’s happening in Iraq isn’t a Republican war or a conservative war; it’s an American war.
This woman is a smirking-condescending . . . I was going to use the “b” word but the next letter actually comes to mind instead, but I’ll refrain. Maybe I’ll mince a word or two, but not Generalissimo over at Hugh Hewitt’s Townhall blog.
She is an idiot. And it is pretty well known even in the House of Representatives that she is an idiot. And idiots being able to prosper and rise to the level of being able to ask questions of four-star generals in time of war is one of the things that is truly remarkable about this country. But no one likes a condescending idiot. It may be fair to say that when compared to the 160,000 men and women under General Petraeus’ command, Congresswoman Sanchez may rank in the 2nd percentile in intelligence.
But make no mistake, Sanchez, like Bob Wexler, like MoveOn.org, like the Code Pink protestors, like the Democrats in the Senate who were silent today when they should have been renouncing the New York Times ad today, does not hold the military in anything but contempt.
Not to be outdone, the Senate Dems get their shot today, with Joe Biden (D) and Chris Dodd (D) already weighing in with massive negativity, accompanied by the RINO from Nebraska, Chuck Hagel singing backup in the anti-war choir.
“How do we justify this continuation?” Dodd asked. “We’re seeing nothing getting better here at all.”
There are none so blind as those that do not see! Better send the pooper-scoopers to Capital Hill pronto, as there’s plenty of guide-dog skat and Democratic bull-shit that needs some attention!
“Disturbed anti-war protester can’t find soldier, kills civilian with axe instead” describes one anti-war Leftist jumping a hell of a lot of sharks! One can only hope that this doesn’t become a trend.
