Funny, what you discover sometimes when mining your visitor stats. Today, while exploring Okie’s visitors, I came across one from a newish Blogspot blog, 30 is the new 20, featuring this header statement:

I’m 30, have been through the life of a 50 year old and feel much like I did when I was 20. These are my thoughts. I am in love with an ex-porn star. I am a Christian. I was awarded the Bronze Star Medal in Iraq. I am a divorced father of two angels. I am an entrepreneur. I am hyper-interested…let’s talk about something[.]

Jared had featured a segment from my post on Newsweek’s Global Warming Deniers bashing issue . . . he and I seem to be of like mind on the AGW hysteria. Thanks, Jared!

His girlfriend Crissy’s story is amazing in its own right. She works with the non-profit Christian outreach group Treasures to help others still caught up in the adult entertainment biz to understand that there is a way out of a life of degradation and shame by coming to know the love and grace of Christ in their lives.

I am currently serving with Treasures, which is a non-profit that goes into strip clubs and brings gift bags with little goodies in it for the girls and a little card letting them know that they are LOVED. If it weren’t for people reminding me that God loved me while I was in pornography I would still be involved so I see this mission as being an amazing opportunity to share HIS love with others who may have never even heard. A lot of these women’s lives are much like my own – sexual abuse, physical abuse, broken families, and drugs. I know I would do or try anything to fill that empty spot in my heart.

Treasures was founded by former stripper Harmony Dust and ministers to girls working in strip clubs all over the US. Take a few minutes and watch this video — as the old saying goes, God [indeed] works in mysterious ways.
