Thanks guys! I must admit, it's awfully quiet around the 'manor' right now, wiggy cats notwithstanding. Having a home office means you can't get away even by "going to work". Yesterday I had to take a break and walk down to the corner and lose myself for a few looking at classics and musclecars. Was going to take a walk around the block, but then realized what that meant. Urrrg! Reading 25 excellent posts does help take one's mind off it. Thanks for those, too. 'Okie'

Believe me, Okie, I know where you're coming from. My own Council submission a few weeks ago was on the loss of the first dog that had every really been my dog. I'm still reeling so I think I know how you must feel. My own feeling are pretty much captured by the remark of another Okie, Will Rogers: “If dogs don't go to heaven, when I die I want to go whereever it is that they went”.

Damn, Okie…my sincere condolances to you and the Missus.It’s always tough to say adios to a good friend.

I lost a good canine pal not too long ago..a criminal black lab-rotty mix who weighed in at about 108 lbs, had major `tude and slept at the foot of my bed every night.

I still miss him…he was a good `un.

One thing someone told me once (or I read somewhere) is that we reunite with our four-legged pals in the world to come.

I hope it’s true.
