When I saw the red light come on the TIVO yesterday eve. I clicked over to Fox News Channel to make sure that I had everything set up correctly to record their showing of Frank Gaffney’s and ABG’ Films’ “Muslims Against Jihad”. Instead, they were running continuous coverage of finding the body of Jessie Davis, now thought to have been murdered by her cop/boyfriend Bobby Cutts Jr., who has since been arrested and is to be arraigned on murder charges Monday.

OK I thought, if it’s breaking news of a story that ALL of the TV news outlets and talking-head shows have been pursuing non-stop for over a week, I can understand Fox’s need to play it that way in the 6:00 PM PST time slot. So, I checked and “Muslims Against Jihad” was scheduled to repeat at midnight here, 3:00 AM EST, so I canceled the 6 PM TIVO setting and set up the later one. This AM I decided to once again make sure that I had caught the show for viewing this eve., and . . .

@@#%&^mother%%$***%%son-of-a#@&*&%$##$_dag-nabit! All that was recorded was a repeat of the earlier “breaking news” of finding Davis’ body! ARRRRRRGGGGGHH!

Now, let me be very clear here, her death is an awful tragedy, her killer is a despicable POS! I feel a great sense of sorrow for the dead woman’s family, and for the church she attended that has been holding prayer vigils ever since her disappearance, as well as a great empathy for the thousands of folks that turned out to assist in the search for Jessie — a search that surely all of them wanted to end differently, although most “knew” the odds of that were slim to none.

However, and it’s a big however for this ol’ Okie — finding her body was “news”, but it didn’t deserve round the clock coverage for days, and it didn’t deserve to bump the later showing of Gaffney’s important film — a film that Gaffney and AGB Films worked tirelessly to get released by the C.P.B. and P.B.S., both of which did NOT want it shown to the public, even though public monies had financed it via the “America at the Crossroads” series that aired in April on PBS affiliates.

I’ve checked the TIVO listings up through Wed. and I can’t see where it will be run. Hopefully, they’ll reschedule for next weekend — sometime guys, how ’bout it? Maybe it was just me. Maybe it did show, but I can’t see how.

I’ll come back and wrap this up a bit later — stuff to do at the moment! Sheesh . . .

Well — evidently it’s on tonight, Sunday eve., although it doesn’t show up in the DirectTV guide. I’m not sure I’ve gotten it at the 6 PM showing so I’ll also TIVO the 9 PM one. One way or the other, I’m watchin’ this one!
