Over and over you hear it — “Islam is a ‘religion of peace”. Guess what, maybe moderate Islam, whatever that means anymore, can be called that, but all over the world the radicalization of the followers of the Prophet continues apace — perhaps accelerating at an alarming rate. Take this incident in northeast Nigeria for example, where Reuters reports that Islamic students lynched a Christian teacher after being accused of desecrating a Koran.

Muslim pupils at a secondary school in northeastern Nigeria beat a teacher to death on Wednesday after accusing her of desecrating the Koran, police and witnesses said.

Oluwatoyin Olusase, a Christian, was invigilating an Islamic Religious Knowledge exam at the school in Gombe state when the incident occurred. The students attacked her outside the school compound after the exam and killed her, witnesses said.

The report goes on to say that in February five people were killed and Christian churches were burned in a neighboring village because a teacher had confiscated a Koran from a student that was reading it in class. Wow — now there’s a capital offense for ya. Brother! Unfortunately, this is going on a lot, and in other places than in Africa. At least the butchers that slaughtered the three Christian schoolgirls in Indonesia aren’t gonna walk, but 20 years for one and 14 years each for the other two killers are pretty lame sentences.

A Muslim militant from Central Sulawesi, Indonesia, was yesterday sentenced to twenty years in prison for masterminding the beheading murder of three Christian girls.

Hasanuddin, 34, who goes by a single name, along with co-conspirators Lilik Purnomo, 28, and Irwanto Irano, 29, were found guilty on Wednesday of decapitating the three Christian schoolgirls in the town of Poso and dumping their bloodied heads in nearby villages, judges said.

The three militants had faced a maximum penalty of death by firing squad, but judges ruled that they deserved some leniency for co-operating with authorities, confessing and showing remorse.

All three confessed to their role in the crime and were forgiven by the victims’ relatives.

I must confess to you, dear ‘Okie’ readers — I don’t understand that last line at all. A hangman’s noose or a bullet to the back of the head is more than these three deserve after hacking off the heads of three innocent young girls, whose only ‘crime’ was believing in Christ instead of Allah.

“Religion of Peace” . . . keep telling yourself that. Hey, moderate Muslims — you better get your act together and beat down the radical element in your midst, cause something evil definitely this way is comin’.
