Head up the Wazzoo AwardJust had lunch and watched a bit of Shepard Smith‘s Studio B show on Fox News where he interviewed Joseph Romm, the author of Hell and High Water: Global Warming–the Solution and the Politics–and What We Should Do. Romm, founder and executive director of the Center for Energy and Climate Solutions, presents a dire future for our planet — if we, the US, don’t get it together and reduce our “carbon footprints.” OK . . . but first, why the headline?

Shepard began the segment with a laundry-list of Global Warming catastrophes stated as if they were already happening, and then opened the interview with something close to this: “It’s a fact, so we don’t have to discuss that. Now, is there anything we can do to prevent any of these horrendous results of Global Warming?”

Wow! “It’s a fact, so we don’t have to discuss that.” On Fox News — the “fascist” network that is such a “mouthpiece for the Republican party” that the Democrats won’t even allow their presidential candidates’ Aug. debate to be hosted there.

After blathering on and on about how to “buy” your way to greenie repentance via “carbon offsets”, Shep and Romm get around to discussing those pesky ol’ Global Warming skeptics. Shep through out the number, 10% disagreement. Romm began to agree, then said that maybe it used to be 90% agreement, but now it is more like 99%. “It’s pretty much total acceptance among the ‘community’ now.”

Guess ol’ Romm had never heard of the 17,000 Actually, he’d just dismiss them all as kooks and fanatics . . . Funny, that’s what I was thinkin’ of ol’ Shep and Romm. Well deserving of a HUTOW award, don’t ya think? (db)
