Clinton Sucks All The Air Out of the Room — Again

One of the statements that former Dukakis campaign manager, Fox News contributor and Democratic talking head Susan Estrich makes often is that whenever either Bill or Hillary Clinton get involved in a current event, “They suck all the air out of the room.” Meaning, whatever is going on, if it involved them even a little, they insist on it becoming all about them! That is certainly the case with the former President and his cronies massive overreaction to the upcoming ABC docudrama Path To 9/11. As Hugh Hewitt puts it:
One of the reasons the Clinton-induced frenzy is mounting is likely the result of the recognition [a]mong the censors about the size of the audience the complaints have built, and the recognition –sure to follow– of the Clinton gang’s enormous vanity when America watches a fine and serious documdrama, sees how little it has to do with the Clinton-era incompetence, is amazed at all the whining, and then concludes that, once again, Clinton has hijacked a national moment and turned it into a one-man play.

And I do think this will backfire on the Clintons. I believe with all my heart that he would have been much smarter to play this down, not up. But with Clinton, it’s always been more about being smart, than clever, right? I can say that because I too am more clever than smart, thus I recognise it in others. Clinton never could resist trying to push for cover, when a simply shrug-and-sigh admission would both meet the case and close the case.
Sssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhuuuuuuukkk!!!! Almost all gone . . .
It will be interesting to watch this thing — if we get the opportunity — and finally see just how much, or most likely, how little, this hissy fit matters. All I can really say is that ABC had better grow some hair and stand tall over this. I’d hate for my wife to have to watch Lost all on her lonesome! (db)
