Cynthia McKinney — Over Her Limit?

Image from LindaSog’s blog — check it out!Cynthia McKinney, Good ol’ U.S. Representative from Georgia, is out, losing her primary election to DeKalb County Commissioner Hank Johnson 59 to 41 percent. Of course, ol’ RaceCard Cyn couldn’t lose gracefully, what would be the fun in that? From Access Georgia:
“My mother was hurt by someone in the press in this room tonight,” McKinney said after losing to challenger Hank Johnson Tuesday. “One of my assistants needs stitches because of the press that are in this room tonight.”
Apparently a boom mike accident was interpreted as an intentional assault. Looks like her entire day with the press was rocky.
“In the confusion, McKinney staffers struck an 11Alive photographer and knocked his camera equipment to the ground.” Earlier in the day, the station said a McKinney staffer had scuffled with another 11Alive photojournalist.
And now, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, good ol’ Cynthia is questioning the outcome of the election.
Shortly after the polls opened on Tuesday, allegations of voting irregularities began appearing on U.S. Rep. Cynthia McKinney’s campaign Web site.
At 8:14 a.m., the first complaint appeared: “Less than an hour into voting, McKinney’s name is not on ballot, opponent’s is,” read an item on her blog.
(…)
Dana Elder, the precinct manager at the school, said there was a power failure around 2:20 p.m. affecting one machine that lists registered voters in the precinct, but it posed no problem because there was another backup machine. The broken machine was fixed within 10 minutes and did not affect the actual voting machines, Elder said.“It was really nothing,” Elder said.
Anyone see a pattern here? Anytime a Democrat loses an election, even to another Democrat, something must have gone wrong with the balloting. Sheesh! It’s an election — someone’s gotta win, which means someone’s gotta lose. Big gnarly fingernails, an inability to understand redistricting and where to go vote, plus a huge chunk of attitude contributed to some confusion at the polls. Guess what, you really need to pay attention during “civics” class!
Good for Georgia — they got rid of a constant embarrassment. Too bad for us, we won’t have “RaceCard” Cynthia McKinney to kick around anymore . . . (db)
