Here are the culprits:

Mr. KUCINICH (for himself, Mr. RANGEL, Mr. ABERCROMBIE, Ms. SLAUGHTER, Ms. KAPTUR, Mr. CONYERS, Mr. CLEAVER, Ms. LEE, Ms. WOOLSEY, Mr. GRIJALVA, Mr. FILNER, Mr. STARK, Mr. MCDERMOTT, Mr. HINCHEY, Mr. HONDA, Mr. DAVIS of Illinois, Ms. WATERS, Mr. MORAN of Virginia, Mr. RUSH, Ms. BALDWIN, Ms. KILPATRICK of Michigan, Ms. MCCOLLUM of Minnesota, Ms. SOLIS, and Mr. MEEKS of New York)

Here is the resolution (courtesy of Liberal Blog site for Draft Gore ’08! — heh!)

Calling upon the President to appeal to all sides in the current crisis in the Middle East for an immediate cessation of violence and to commit United States diplomats to multi-party negotiations with no preconditions.

Resolved by the House of Representatives (the Senate concurring), That Congress–

(1) calls upon the President to–

(A) appeal to all sides in the current crisis in the Middle East for an immediate cessation of violence;

(B) commit United States diplomats to multi-party negotiations with no preconditions; and

(C) send a high-level diplomatic mission to the region to facilitate such multi-party negotiations;

(2) urges such multi-party negotiations to begin as soon as possible, including delegations from the governments of Israel, the Palestinian Authority, Lebanon, Iran, Syria, Jordan, and Egypt; and

(3) supports an international peacekeeping mission to southern Lebanon to prevent cross-border skirmishes during such multi-party negotiations.

Got that? Negotiations with Syria (Hezbollah) & Palestinian Authority (Hamas) “with no preconditions”. Uhhhhh, hasn’t Israel already been there, done that — over and over and over? What’s that definition of insanity — doing the same thing that doesn’t work, again and again.

Just listened to Holocaust survivor, Nobel Peace Prize winner, Elie Wiesel on Fox News and when asked about the Kucinich resolution said, “How can you negotiate with someone that wants you dead?” Excellent question. However, the Leftists in the Blogosphere care little if any for the survival of the Israeli state. Checking out the Kos main page, there in not one post about the Israeli/Hezbollah conflict. Sure is a lot of anti-Joe Lieberman stuff, though. But hey, he’s a Jew — and we all have seen what the Kossites think of them.

This diary started as a comment I made last night. At one point yesterday I brought my wife over and looked at the most recent 50 diaries, there were 7 that were bashing Israel, and then there were 2 others that were talking about the Middle East war in more balanced terms.

I wonder when are folks going to learn that Israel is like family to most Jews? Now, people in our families may eff up, and we’re not shy about smacking them around in private, but when we’re in public nobody talks smack about our family and we’ll stick up for them.

[T]he below list of diaries are those that I found that were strictly critical of Israel – and one sided in that respect. The range of the criticism varies widely. I am not trying to suggest in any way that the diaries below are identical in nature. The only commonality was when I read them, I read them as being critical of Israel the country, Israel’s policies, Israel’s behavior in the war, etc.

That’s quite a list, and only the opinion of one Jewish reader of Kos. Actually, you’d like to think that this guy would get a clue, and go looking for a clearing house of ideas and information by those that actually do support Israel and the Jewish people everywhere. With this much antisemitism at the most popular blog site there is, one has to ask the Weisel question again, or actually paraphrase it: “How can you agree/associate/participate with someone that wants you somewhere else, or maybe even dead?”

Someone want to answer that one for me? Anyone? (db)
