Yesterday the protest group Students Against War forced the armed services recruiters there to leave a job fair set up on the UC Santa Cruisez campus. It was not a pretty sight, with lots of F___ You signage, the usual blocking of access and smoke bombs & stuff.
Same ol’ ’60s BS, brought to you by the slackers that want to dismantle the military in a time of war. Narcissus would be very proud, indeed.
Michelle Malkin has the pics, and a fact that hints at a cure.
FACT: UC Santa Cruz received approximately $80 million in federal funds last year alone, according to a news release cited by the Santa Cruz Sentinel.
If they won’t let military recruiters on campus, or won’t control the student population to let the recruiters do their work, CUT OFF THE FEDERAL FUNDS!

OK, looks like some far-right nutters just can’t control themselves and are sending nasty comments and hate email to the SAW organizers in Santa Cruz. I’ve been asked in the comments to remove the personal numbers of the three organizers and have done so, not because I think that Okie’s readers will be as vile and profane as those shown on their site, but because they have made the case that those numbers were for press use only for story confirmation, and not for general release. You can still let them know how you feel — play nice, now — using the email addresses at UCSC. Funny though, the type of emails that they are getting are normally what Malkin gets every day. (db)

How dare you publish the personal phone numbers of the SAW organizers. I would like to see you, and your cravenly ilk demonstrate a fraction of their courage and conviction. Or better yet, why not publish YOUR number so you (and your family) might have the oppertunity to experience the racist, homophobic, and threatening phone calls that you and your filthy brood are casting and my brothers and sisters.
Better yet, go back to OKIE and leave us alone. This State is full , and i would trade a douche like you for an other million undocumented immigrants at the drop of a hat.

Thanks for the spelling tip. Here, I’ll give you one, a sentence usually begins with a capital letter, and an elipse (…) indicates a trailing thought. Like for example, “I wonder if this comment writer could possibly get his head out of his . . .” Actually, after hearing your student body president on O’Reilly last night, I was getting all you guys confused with that other paragon of rational thought, Tom “Cruise”. I missed taking Spanish in high school, our Spanish teacher got cancer and died — It was a small school.
Some would say that the Okies immigrating out here during the dustbowl were the real invading hoardes. I’m a newbie, just 20+ years or so. The state wasn’t full when I got here, but it sure is getting crowded now! Too many “bleeding heart pinko[s]“ reproducing I’d say.
People wearing masks and interfering with the free-speech rights of others, let alone breaking a federal mandate that has just recently been settled unanimously by the Supreme Court don’t get any quarter from me.
That makes no sense whatsoever. BTW, mine is a lowly little blog in the Blogosphere’s tail. I just excerpted that information from Michelle Malkin’s blog, which is a POWERHOUSE in the Blogosphere. Maybe a few dozen saw it on my blog, but tens, if not hundreds of thousands saw it on Michelle’s — ain’t that just too cool?!

Her refusal to remove these kids contact information was not from conviction, but from revenue. Every journalist in the world knows that contact information on a press release is for journalists to call for more information or interviews, not to be published (or even pointed out) in the publication itself. If she were any kind of ethical person she would have pulled the information when asked.
If she were something resembling a human being with “feelings”, she would not have republished the information once the students themselves removed it. Michelle is a vicious, vindictive, venomous egoist with no discernible ethics nor even a shred of human decency. If she wants to be The Minority Woman Who Believes Minorities and Women Suck, that’s her right. But she should at least have the integrity to acknowledge that she has done wrong and to stop compounding the wrong. And she should not give us that disingenuous crap about how she doesn’t condone death threats and nobody should misuse her posting and reposting of personal information.
