[Michelle Malkin beat me to the first one, but what else is new?]

One — The Supreme Court UNANIMOUSLY decides that colleges and universities that get Federal monies MUST allow the ROTC on campus. This pull quote from our new Chief Justice Robert’s opinion is a gem.

“…Nothing about recruiting suggests that law schools agree with any speech by recruiters, and nothing in the Solomon Amendment restricts what the law schools may say about the military’s policies. We have held that high school students can appreciate the difference between speech a school sponsors and speech the school permits because legally required to do so, pursuant to an equal access policy… …Surely students have not lost that ability by the time they get to law school.

We’d like to think not, but you never know . . .

Two — S.D. Governor Signs Abortion Ban Into Law

Gov. Mike Rounds signed legislation Monday banning nearly all abortions in South Dakota, setting up a court fight aimed at challenging the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion.

The bill would make it a crime for doctors to perform an abortion unless the procedure was necessary to save the woman’s life. It would make no exception for cases of rape or incest.

Planned Parenthood, which operates the state’s only abortion clinic, in Sioux Falls, has pledged to challenge the measure.

One down, 49 to go — Won’t be all that long before we hear our new Chief Justice weighing in on this one, too.

Don’t hold your breath, or bet the farm, on this one being unanimous! (db)
