Walkin’ the Line
Reese Witherspoon won the Oscar for best actress last night for her portrayal of June Carter Cash in Walk The Line, 2005’s boipic of Johnny Cash, starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Man in Black. Both did fantastic jobs as far as I was concerned — their singing was great. We had just seen the film a few days ago, as it came out on DVD last Tuesday.
So, if you have watched it recently, or will soon, or remember it well, check out this link to Johnny Cash’s video for one of his last songs, Hurt.
After seeing what he went through — and what he put everyone around him through, before June Carter, and God, helped him put himself back together — you can intensely appreciate the sentiments of this ballad.
Powerful is an understatement!
