Muslims Protesting Cartoons in New York City — Malkin Has Pics!
The New York Times online reports the following:
About 1,000 Muslims held a peaceful rally and prayed in a park near the United Nations today to protest the dozen caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad, originally published in a newspaper in Denmark, that have set off a series of violent demonstrations around the world.
Officials from various New York-area Muslim religious and community groups that organized the rally, the first major gathering of its kind in the city, said they wanted to speak out against the “demonization of Muslims” in Denmark and the violent protests in Pakistan, Afghanistan and other countries. Local Muslim leaders were scheduled to meet with officials from the Danish Consulate after the rally to present them with books about the life of Muhammad.
OK, sounds rational for moderate Muslims to protest the violent protests happening around the world about this issue, but what’s up with “demonization of Muslims” in Denmark? These are some of the most benign doodles and caricatures that wouldn’t begin to pass muster as decent political cartoons in a U.S. newspaper. Guess our home grown Muslims are as thin-skinned as the rest of them? Sure hope not.
Michelle Malkin has pics up, and the signs these peaceful rally goers are shown holding are anything but comforting! (db)

MSM SAYS CARTOON PROTESTS IN NYC WERE PEACEFUL
The NY Times said protests in front of the UN in NYC were peaceful. We have pictures that show the opposite – threats against the White House and Dutch politician, Ayaan Hirsi Ali

Sorry Rona, it does work, but is not really intuitive I guess unless you work with code. Unlike a WYSIWYG editor, the buttons above first place opening html tags, such as if you want text to be bold, then you have to close the tag. It shows up in the buttons with a “/” in the button when a tag needs closing.
Hopefully there will be a comments WYSIWYG plug-in available when I get around to upgrading “Okie” to WordPress 2.something.
But anyway, thanks for commenting!
