Laer of Cheat Seeking Missiles, for some reason sitting right behind Hugh Hewitt somewhere, is starting to be convinced toward Hugh’s position of caution in regards to this Brouhaha. Still –

I’m still not quite in his camp. I like the whole concept of mutual respect quite a lot and there are certainly times for it in this debate. But there are also times when it’s important to make the radical Islamists look silly, because it will hurt their recruitment efforts. This is such a time.

But, what does the Okie think?

OK, I’m angry, alright? But then the question becomes — at just what, exactly? Harder question to answer. The whole Muslim immigrant mess in Europe is frustrating and dangerous for Western Civilization. The Europeans have brought this upon themselves by buying into social-liberal governance that has pretty well decimated their core societies and has left them dependent upon immigrant labor to function.

Unlike in the U.S., none of these societies has endeavored to assimilate their immigrants, and now that may be much too late. Societies that perpetuate mass poverty and social welfare dependence for political reasons create the conditions for radicalism and hatred on a good day. As we all can see, in Europe, today is not a good day.

Europe has also turned its collective back on God and its centuries old embrace of Christianity. Take that away from the youth and the repressed in a society and what can you possibly expect to happen? We see the answer to that in current events.

And now, while our government vows solidarity with the Danes, only a few of our newspapers will publish even the least offensive of the Muslim cartoons, and the source image of one of the three fake anti-Muslim images surfaces.

Gotta go and get to work — still angry though! (db)
