More Moonbat Excess — Cindy Sheehan Speaks

I’m not into lists, especially of the end-of-the-year type, but of all the Moonbats held up for glorification by the MSM in ’05, Cindy Sheehan has got to be in the top five, if not the outright top itself. Take for instance this Sheehan quote from her interview on CNN’s American Morning yesterday, courtesy of The Political Teen.

What I understand about that is that they can’t attack my message so they try and attack me. When I called George Bush a lying bastard, people say, do you regret that and do you wish you didn’t say it? No, I don’t, because he lied and he killed my son.

Ooooh! I guess the Pres whipped out a Glock and busted a cap in ol’ Cindy’s boy, huh? Please . . . according to FallenHeroesmemorial.com:

Army Spc. Casey Sheehan

24, of Vacaville, California. — Sheehan died in Baghdad, Iraq, when his unit was attacked with rocket-propelled grenades and small arms fire. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on April 4, 2004.

Casey Sheehan was on a volunteer rescue mission, by the way, and died a hero’s death. Black Five has the details of that day:

(…) Soldiers of the 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment were ambushed with RPGs and pinned down and dying. While fighting off an attack himself, the Commander of the 2/5th, LTC Volesky, called for help. A Quick Reaction Force (QRF) was formed of volunteers – their mission was to go out and rescue the American troops.

Casey Sheehan’s Sergeant asked for volunteers. Sheehan had just returned from Mass. After Sheehan volunteered once, the Sergeant asked Sheehan again if he wanted to go on the mission. According to many reports (and according to his own mother), Casey responded, “Where my Chief goes, I go.”

The QRF was launched. Not long after entering the Mahdi area, the QRF was channeled onto a dead-end street where the roofs were lined with snipers, RPGs, and even some militia throwing burning tires onto the vehicles. The Mahdi blocked the exit and let loose with everything they had.

Sheehan’s vehicle was hit with multiple RPGs and automatic-weapons fire.

Specialist Casey Sheehan and Corporal Forest J. Jostes were killed. (…)

Unfortunately, to a good Leftist, dead-is-dead-is-dead, no matter the reason or the purpose. To these narcissistic Progressives, the only thing that matters is their own personal existence, and they cannot in their wildest imaginings comprehend that anyone would sacrifice their own life for anything or anyone else.

If you have the stomach for it, Political Teen has the video of Cindy Sheehan slandering the memory of her son once again. I’ve just had lunch, so I’ll pass on that for a while. (db)

A mother standing up for what she believes is a mistaken war that resulted in the death of her son is not a mother “slandering” her son. You may not agree with her, but that doesn’t mean she’s crazy, or “using” her son’s death, or a horrible mother, etc., etc., etc. I don’t really follow her much but I do see the right-wing comments about her, and the ferocity of the attacks on her leads one to believe that the right detests her so much because her message is so powerful. But in this instance it would be more strategic to stop talking about her; the more you guys keep after her, the more power you give to her voice.

Congrats ‘Zander, you’ve earned your trio’s link in my Fever Swamp section. BTW — Your favorite books sections explain a lot, although I’m not sure you’ve learned much as yet from Tolkien.
