Is There Really a God?

According to Penn Jillette via an NPR article, “the taller, louder half” of the Vegas magic duo Penn & Teller the answer is no, There Is No God.

I believe that there is no God. I’m beyond Atheism. Atheism is not believing in God. Not believing in God is easy — you can’t prove a negative, so there’s no work to do. You can’t prove that there isn’t an elephant inside the trunk of my car.

I’m not greedy. I have love, blue skies, rainbows, and Hallmark cards, and that has to be enough… It seems just rude to beg the invisible for more.

Poignant words from a “a research fellow at the Cato Institute [who] has lectured at Oxford and MIT [&] has co-authored three best-selling books …” ? He has “love, blue skies, rainbows, and Hallmark cards” and that’s enough answers for him to the big questions in life? Give me a break! I can’t do justice to tearing apart Penn’s screed, but Doug TenNapel sure does!

Penn Jillette informs us that “There is no God” over at NPR. I’d like to answer his challenge though I can’t call it David and Goliath since I’m also over 6′ 6″ and have an enormous mouth. How about Goliath and Goliath?
