ZAWAHIRI’S Four-Part Plan Exposed — Plus al Qaeda’s Begging for Bucks

Yesterday I received a subscribed email from Central Command, which presents an analysis of the letter from al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri to Jordanian terrorist Abu Musab al Zarqawi that was recently captured, plus the text of the letter itself in both English and Arabic. There’s much to appreciate in the text and tone of this communication, as it does appear that our efforts in Iraq are hurting al Qaeda quite a bit. However, as Citizen Smash, the Indepundit relates, it also lets you into the thinking and goals of this important al Qaeda leader.

ZAWAHIRI’S four-part plan:

1. “Expel the Americans from Iraq.”

2. “Establish an Islamic authority or emirate” [in Iraq].

3. “Extend the jihad” [to Iraq’s “secular” neighbors].

4. “The clash with Israel.”

This is the Islamists’ vision for the Middle East. Iraq is now, without a doubt, the central front in this war.

Also in the letter is a passage that tells of making the most use of the media in their fight to install Islam as the world’s only religion. Fellow SCBA blogger Laer Pierce at Cheat Seeking Missiles has comments on the media’s most likely action.

But what about the US media? It’s clear Z/Z is hoping for a media uprising against the Iraq war as effective as the one against Vietnam. Will knowing this affect their coverage?

I doubt it. Their eyes have been put out by the God of Objectivity, a brutal god who is not to be confused with the much more munificent God of Fairness or the powerful but difficult God of Common Sense.

Have to agree with Laer. I don’t see any actions on the part of the MSM to even try to balance the reporting on Iraq. It’s pretty much anti-US actions all the time. Why? Well, the left showed in last fall’s Presidential election that it has never gotten over the Vietnam War, and until our entire generation dies off, I do think that will continue to be. It was their greatest hour — all the protests — all the drugs and sex — the music of that era — although balding and bellied, they’re still long-haired hippies at heart.

Hey, I’m as nostalgic as the next fella, there were some good times back then, and a riff from a treasured song still twangs something inside. But, as written in 1 Corinthians 13:11, “When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.” Just because they made it through puberty doesn’t mean that they ever grew up! Or maybe, it’s something else. Something more deliberate and sinister. There’s a war going on out there. These guys want ALL of us DEAD! What’s so very hard to understand about that? (db)
