Remember the USS Cole

Michelle Malkin is doing just that on her blog today:

Today is the fifth anniversary of the U.S.S. Cole bombing. Please take a moment to note the event on your blogs today if you have a chance. Stars and Stripes pays tribute to the 17 sailors killed in the terrorist attack, the dozens wounded, the survivors, and the families affected.

And in her column on Jewish World Review.

9/11 had not yet happened. Our society was in complete denial that a Global War On Terror was even then, a necessity. Maybe we still are, as Michelle relates in her JWR piece:

Nothing to see here. Move along. Islam is a peaceful religion. Stop asking so many damned questions.

Such is the attitude of the national media, which seems to believe that ’tis better to live in ignorance and indulge in hindsight later than to offend the gods of political correctness.

Peaceful my day glow-white hiney!
Remember those lost and injured on the USS Cole — and those whose bravery and intense efforts kept her afloat! (db)
