Dumpster Diving in the Fever Swamp

Just to show you what we have to deal with over here in Santa Monica, here is the front page pic from this week’s Santa Monica Mirror. The image was taken by Margaret Molley of a group of pathetic losers in front of the Federal Building on Wilshire Blvd. in West LA.

On Monday, September 12, a small number of Angelenos gathered in front of the Federal Building in Westwood to take part in a national “Day of Outrage” at the failure of the federal government, first, to shore up the New Orleans levees, which would have prevented the devastating flood, second, to delay going to the aid of the people on the Golf Coast for four days, and, third, to fail to provide adequate assistance to Hurricane Katrina victims.

Hmmmm, guess they didn’t get the memo. The levees weren’t shored up because of local corruption and environmental activist lawsuits, ditto on aid to the people, much of which was pre-positioned before Katrina hit (although FEMA did make mistakes, NOLA Democratic Mayor Nagin and Louisiana Democratic Governor Blanco should probably at least face civil suits for incompetence if not criminal charges for careless disregard!), not adequate assistance? What is it about a projected 200 BILLION dollars in relocation/reconstruction money is not adequate?

As for the Mirror, on the home page, not one direct link to any aid efforts for hurricane Katrina victims. God help me, I’m really starting to hate these people!

Like I said, after diving in this feted dumpster, one certainly needs a shower! (db)

Amazing… let me get this straight, they are speaking on our behalf down here in Louisiana? Shouldn’t the people that have a right to be outraged actually have lived in Louisiana during the Katrina storm?

But don’t worry, the only voters this hurricane is actually going to affect are the Louisiana voters, and I can tell you, they are mad at local officials, not federal.

    They blame Blanco, not Bush.

Those silly people in California does not speak for Louisiana. We aren’t stupid, we know who’s at fault.
