Boy — Am I Ever Tired of Typing “Air America”!

Has the MSM finally started covering the Air America funding scandal? Let’s check once again,

New York Times – 0 articles,
Washington Post – 0 articles,
Chicago Tribune – 0 articles,
Los Angeles Times – 0 articles.

Hmmmm — 40 minutes ago, Ken Tucker’s article, Spitzer Eyes Air America, Gloria Wise Loans appeared on the Billboard Radio Monitor website. The “news” being reported in this article was covered last week by the NYPost, but Billboard is getting closer to being part of the MSM.

Michelle Malkin links to Al Franken’s Air America radio show from yesterday, with disparaging remarks about Michelle, and the following Franken quote about the whole funding affair:

“There’s more to talk about…But it’s boring.” — Al Franken

Poor lil’ Al, had to actually invest a bit o’ time on-the-come in something that he strongly believes in. What a horrible trial to have to endure! ;-)

I know it seems like I get fixated on a single topic sometimes — I guess that may be true. The story is not the funding itself, or the City of New York having to bail out the Gloria Wise B&G Club, or even whether Evan Cohen’s actions are ethical, illegal or not. The story is that NONE of the major newspapers in America have even mentioned this. With charges of liberal media bias being shouted throughout the land, you’d think that these ol’ dinosaurs would at least attempt to slant some form of reportage on this issue. If you have your head planted deep in the sand, (or up your you-know-what), you certainly aren’t gonna be able to see the approaching pack of predators! Can you say — extinction?

I’ll start writing about something else today ’cause nothing is breaking on this right now. As always — more when there’s more . . . (db)

[Update: 12:20PM] “Air America” is the number 6th most searched term on Technorati at the moment. Just in case ya was wonderin’ . . . (db)

[Update: 2:00PM] The Anchoress is thinking that everyone is getting tired on this one:

I dunno…it feels to me like the NY Times is going to win this round in the ongoing battle by bloggers to get the Mainstream Media to grow the hell up and re-embrace their craft. I guess that “the paper of record” is going to get away with printing not a word – not a single word – concerning the misuse of public funds by Air America Radio, about whom they have written some 67 gushing articles.

We might be laying low until something new breaks, but it’s not over — yet! (db)

[Update: 2:12PM] Michelle Malkin, David Lombino and Brent Bozell are on Shawn Hannity’s radio show talking about the scandal right now! Shawn’s making a full segment on it. (db)

[Update: 3:18PM] Fever Swamp Alert! Here’s what our buddies on the other side are saying about this affair:

A close read of the article linked to above (How to Fake News: A Primer), reveals that there are some very strange aspects to this story and that it looks like the right is fabricating and exaggerating several aspects of it. My personal belief is that the right is freaked out that Air America Radio up 140% in LA, Eating up Rush Limbaughs Audience. I believe this is a smear campaign, not unlike the one the right launched, and is still nurturing, against Ambassador Joe Wilson and his wife, Valerie Plame.

(Let’s see, 140% of 10 is . . . 14! Yipee!) Yeah — it’s all about outing Valerie Plame. D’ya think that Carl Rove “made” Evan Cohen “strongarm” the Gloria Wise Boys & Girls Club into “loaning” Air America all that money, and then wouldn’t let “AA” pay it back? Is Elvis still alive? Geez! (db)
