What Would You Call This? Me Too!

Just saw a really stupid-human trick. As I was walking to the market there was a small kid, about 6-7 or so yrs. old, skateboarding back and forth across the street, quite a busy street at that. That was bad, but not stupid. The stupid-human trick was that the kid’s dad was standing in the middle of the street warning him when traffic was coming, and giving him the OK when the street was clear — think about it!

“Go play in traffic” — What kind of signal is that to communicate to your kid? What would you call this guy?

That’s right, the same word came to my mind — What Orin Hatch used to describe Senator Chuck Schumer’s questions to Justice Roberts during his Appeals Court nomination hearings . . . (db)

    From the very first day of training, my dog was taught not to violate curbs. At every intersection he was taught to stop and wait for a release command. He was consistently chastised for going into the street. It seemed nearly impossible at times. Today, he does all of those things by nature. My boys are learning the same thing; and not just with streets, lest they become the dead children of a stupid jack-arse.
