The Upcoming SCOTUS Nominee

In his Saturday morning post, Hugh Hewitt sets the stage for what is next to come, and admonishes whoever is nominated to be genuinely “squeaky clean”, or refuse the nomination.

The left wants a justice who will implement its vision whether that means upholding laws they like or striking down those they don’t They cannot honestly express themselves on this point because to do so is to admit that they want judicial rule because they cannot seem to elect majorities committed to their agenda.
(…)
The key question for any nominee is the one that was last on the counsel’s office questionnaire when I was in that office: “Is there anything else in your background that, if made public, would embarrass the President?” All potential nominees have to understand that there is no statute of limitations restraining the left, and passage through confirmation to a lower court is not even remotely like the gauntlet ahead. If there is a problem, disclose it or take yourself out of the hunt.

It’s humbling when you look back on your own life and realize that a myriad of little foibles along the way would most certainly exclude yourself from any type of high-level confirmation. Life is a very odd journey. We all must learn along the way, and some of us need hard-knock lessons to get “it” through our hard heads. However, due to our “politically correct” era, a Left that is increasingly unhinged from reality and a disingenuous and agenda driven Main Stream Media (MSM), our “leaders”, especially those who have to endure a committee-style hearing, have to have lived a pretty much pure, untainted life — making them not at all like the majority of the rest of us. Strange.

BTW, there’s lots o’ interesting and important stuff in that (…) — go and check it out! (db)
