Some Interesting Reads this AM

Hugh Hewitt writes about the convergence of events these last two weeks, and sees not a coincidence in the deaths of both Terri Schiavo and Pope John Paul II within days of each other so soon after Holy Week, only devine purpose. Hugh brings to the fore the Cardinals’ responsibilities as they begin selecting a new Pope, the after effects of the Schiavo ordeal on their thinking and the lame MSM focus on the secular media’s complaints. You’ll certainly want to read it all, but here’s a taste:

These Cardinals will have to be wondering about, and praying about, what the Holy Spirit intends them to do in conclave and why the pope has died at precisely this moment. The anti-Christians will scoff at the idea of God’s timing, but not the Cardinals, for whom God’s timing is a given. They will be fully informed of the circumstances of Terri Schiavo’s death, of the advance of the Groningen Protocol, the pressure under which many of the doctrines of Christianity find themselves, and of a variety of developments that are directly opposed to the Church’s doctrines on the sanctity of life.

Hugh’s producer, Duane, aka Radioblogger, has a couple of good ones this AM, too. He takes the Democrats to task for piling on Tom Delay when they are rotten to the core, or at least to the House Majority Leader, Nancy Pelo$i. [Generalissimo, love the $!]

But the Democrats, who in the post-Clinton era live in glass houses, should not throw stones at Delay when their own leader has the same ethical lapses of her own. Link here.

In his second good one of the day, he calls the Dems to task for their crass political maneuvers toward Catholics during their time of mourning. Go get ‘em, Duane!

Republicans offer condolences and offer remembrances of a great leader. Democrats say we’ve got to figure out who these people are and why they don’t vote for us anymore. Pope? Pope who? How did he vote?

Disgusting, isn’t it? Gotta love those Dems!

On a really serious note, Doug Tennapel asks his wife’s doc a question:

I went to the chick-doctor with my Beloved wife and got to see a Sonagram of our little daughter! Her little head turned and I could see her skull and mouth. Her heart was pumping away and her arms waved around in liquid. She kicked while we were watching and I saw the foot jam into my wife’s belly.

I looked up at the doctor and couldn’t keep quiet…”People abort this?”

Go and read the rest to find out the doc’s answer. See you at lunch, Doug! Gotta get back to work . . . (db)
