Freedom’s Bell is Ringing Loud Today!

Checking out the Anchoress led me to this post at The Mudville Gazette by Greyhawk with some stirring pictures from Iraq and Lebanon. Enjoy the intense emotion and wonderful visual qualities of the pics, then read all the comments. At least most of the readers “get it”, and we can feel sorry for those that don’t.

I don’t checkout Greyhawk’s blog nearly as much as I should, so I’ve just added it to my aggragator to make sure it stays at the top of my attention span. Here he is discussing the current collapse of the Lebanese government and the promise of a “peaceful” transition of power.

Exciting times indeed. Let’s pray for a peaceful transition of power. A reminder of Mudville’s motto:

The Mudville Gazette is the on-line voice of an American warrior, who prefers to see peaceful change render force of arms unnecessary. Until that day he stands fast with those who struggle for freedom, strike for reason, and pray for a better tomorrow.

For most of my life Beirut has been synonymous with violence. To imagine a peaceful revolution changing this part of the world is even more miraculous than the events in Eastern Europe a few years ago.

Go check him out if he is not on your daily reading list. We can all be reassured when there are “rough men” like Greyhawk out there on our behalf! (db)
