Pro-life Blogs for Terri Shiavo

I just got this, and after posting earlier this evening on Terri’s plight, I just want to get this out there in its entirety.

Dear Pro-Life Friend,

I’m taking the unusual step of emailing the entire pro-life blogs mailing list because of a critical situation that has developed in the case of Terri Schiavo.

Today, the courts rejected the pleas of Terri’s parents to stop her husband, Michael, from withholding food and water from her. He has promised to begin starving her tomorrow at 1 pm.

Most of you are aware that Terri is not a “vegetable” or “brain-dead” as Michael and his lawyers claim, but responds to others and is aware of her surroundings. She laughs, smiles and, according to her nurses, has a small vocabulary.

Terri is not on life support and is healthy. She needs help eating and is fed through a tube (helping someone eat and drink who is impaired has never been considered artificial life support).

While Michael asserts he is carrying out Terri’s wishes, he waited until after he received a large sum of money from a lawsuit against her doctors before making this claim . During the lawsuit, he alleged negligence and motivated a financial award with the potential cost of Terri’s rehabilitation.

However, Terri has been denied rehabilitation that experts testify could allow her to eat and talk. The courts in Florida have consistently blocked appeals to give Terri proper tests and therapy that would improve her life.

Terri may not have the capabilities she once had, but she is no less valuable and no less a person.

Here is what you can do to help Terri:

There have been many allegations suggesting that Michael Shiavo was not only responsible for Terri’s condition but that there was much physical abuse in the years after as well. All I know is that there will be a special place in Hell for Mr. Shiavo if this is the case, and if he is successful in the killing of his wife, Terri.

Once again, pray for Terri Shiavo! (db)

The supreme court is a murderous den of vipers and Jeb
Bush will have blood on his hands as surely as
Pontius Pilate did. If Castro wanted Terri back in Cuba,
there would be no problem sending in armed thugs to get
    her out of that hospice.

Aside from the fact the Terri is not unconscious and responds in a
a limited way to her environment, how can anyone condone
killing her in this fashion. Everyone should read a
description of what it means to die of dehydration and
starvation. Then they should look up Kate Adamson who
was also in the same state. She came back and was aware
of her surroundings and felt pain, frustration, anger and
hope. She did not want to die. She only wanted a chance
to recover, something that is being denied to Terri.
The other thing I keep wondering about, is how did Michael
Shaivo manage to misappropriate money directed by the court for
Terri's rehabilitation and use it to try to murder her?
It is my understanding that $700,000 of the settlement he
received from the malpractice suit was for her and yet
he never used one cent for her rehabilitation....
And finally to the people who say this is for her parents own
gratification, I say if it were my child and there was
only one chance in a billion for her to come back, I take
it. Miracles happen everyday so why shouldn't she have one?

My comment is only to quote,"Thou Shalt Not Kill!"

I call Michael a murderer and his so called concern for Terri is so much baloney and he should be put in jail for what he is doing. I have e-mailed so many in congress and the senated for help and pray that someone will do something for this presious lady and have also asked God for and Elisha miracle. Praise God, something must happen for this lady, because she is able to be helped, that is why Michael does not want her healed. To many secrets will be told. Thank You!
  • Michael Schiavo has never allowed Terri to have the treatment and rehabilitation she was prescribed, and he has denied her an MRI and a PET scan, which virtually all board certified neurosurgeons say are necessary in order to accurately diagnose someone as being in PVS.

The neurologists that have examined Terri at length have gone on record that she can improve, most likely to the point of being able to feed herself. That is not the description of a brain dead individual, and to starve her to death is certainly murder in some degree.

There are over 100,000 handicapped people in the U.S. relying on feeding tubes to survive. You gonna be the one to tell them that 15 years is enough, and that they should just allow us to kill them for our convenience?

Don't remember anyone saying anything like that to Christopher Reeve when he couldn't breath or feed himself on his own. Funny how the left is so myopic about these things.

YOU decide whats best for the family? Let it go. Its not your choice. 15 years is long enough. You end up like Terri, thats how you want life? Best of all, you want the government to decide your personal matters for you? You should all be scared of that.

I am a nurse an Terri is not in a vegatative state and should have the right to liveAnd all the people involved in this case from her "husband", his lawyer and the judges are no better than Scott Peterson and deserve to be locked up themselves. The guardianship of Terri should be turned over ot someone that doesn't stand to gain a million dollars by her death. Wake up and realize that the "husband " does not have her best interests at heart and all involved are murderers. Also a feeding tube is not life support, a ventillator yes, tube feeding no. May God have mercy on us all if we allow this to happen.
