It never rains in California, but boy, don’t they warn ya, it pours, man it pours! “
I’ve been living out here since ‘83 and I have never seen it rain with such ferosity as it has over the last 48 hours or so. Last night also presented the most intense electrical storm I’ve witnessed since I spent the night at my mom’s Oilton, OK home in August of ‘02. I’ll write about that night some other time. I had to stay up with the dog that is terrified of thunder ’til 3:30 AM so that my wife could get some sleep, as she had a 9 o’clock client today. Hey, it’s “tax season”!
Well, didn’t get any posting done today, guess yesterday’s quest to put up those three letters of my dad’s about did me in, in a couple of ways, not to mention the food poisoning or 24 hour bug, or whatever it was that wrecked me on Thursday and on into Friday.
But I did get a wireless network set up here at Okie Central and now can live blog events like speeches, press conferences, etc. on the laptop that I am using to write this. The shared DSL part works great, now to just get the printer shared between the workstation in the office and the laptop here in the living room. At least now I can keep my wife company as she slaves away on the tax preparations for her clients instead of cloistering myself away back in the office.
I also have been attending to work. I have a blog set up for one of my clients. On some days, depending upon the trackbacks that I set up, it gets more visitors than this one. We are also working on a new CSS driven format for their BTGMotoring web site, which is almost in beta. I am also working on turning my design company’s website into a WordPress 1.5 blog, and hope to have that done by next weekend.
So I have taken a few days off from being righteously indignant over current events and politics. Feels good! But like all good things, that won’t last long. Will probably stumble across sometime in the LATimes in the AM that will really tic me off. At least I won’t have to go far to write about it, just open up the laptop lid and get it on! (db)
