It’s been quite a day! I’m just now looking at the blogs I like to read and here is a tasty tidbit from Hindrocket at Powerline about the disturbing new practice of the Iraqi insurgents in using the retarded as suicide bombers:

It occurs to me that these are the people whom Michael Moore, the intellectual leader of the Democratic Party, called the “Minutemen” of Iraq, who, he said were going to defeat the U.S. I suppose that at some point in human history there must have lived someone who was more wrong-headed about every possible issue than Michael Moore. Offhand, though, I can’t think of anyone.

Well said! Can you actually think of anyone more corpulent and disgusting as Michael Moore? Off hand, I sure can’t. Maybe he should go and meet the “rabbit skinner” from his flick Roger and Me in a dark alley and see how well he comes out. OOOOOhhhhhhhhhh!

Saintknowitall
spends a lot of time monitoring the activities of the Protest Warriors, but also has time to comment on the Eason Jordan flap and the positive effects of the elections in Iraq.

I have to admit that I had my doubts as to whether the Iraqi people would actually come out and vote. But they did. And they would not have happened without the leadership of President Bush. The MSM and the leftys can gripe all they want about how “stupid” Bush is or what a “cowboy” he is. (By the way, calling someone a cowboy is really a compliment in my book.) But it doesn’t change the fact that he made it happen. That is what happens when you say what you mean and mean what you say.

Always fun to bag on lefty hairsplitters!

Mark Tapscott gives us his impressions of the just released on DVD In the Face of Evil.

It was an evening a little more than 40 years ago when a man I knew only vaguely as an actor in the sunset of an undistinguished career appeared on the screen of my family’s black-and-white television. Being only 14-years-old, the things I cared about in those days consisted mainly of playing shortstop, cheering A.J. Foyt at Indy and … girls. But for reasons I now believe were providential, I began listening to Ronald Reagan that night as he delivered what came to be known as The Speech.

By the time Reagan concluded The Speech with a stirring peroration I’ve known by heart ever since, I was ready to roll up my sleeves and get started saving freedom and saving America. Little did I know that night in Oklahoma in 1964 that I was starting along a road that would ultimately take me to the Oval Office in 1981 meeting with the man I had served for most of the intervening years in one capacity or another, and finally, in the greatest honor of my professional life, as a Reagan appointee in the federal government until 1985. … “

Yahoo! News
gives the AP report that Ward Churchhill might just be fired for his remarks likening the victims of the 9/11 World Trade Center attack to Nazis:

AURORA, Colo. – University of Colorado administrators Thursday took the first steps toward a possible dismissal of a professor who likened World Trade Center victims to a notorious Nazi.

Interim Chancellor Phil DiStefano ordered a 30-day review of Ward Churchill’s speeches and writings to determine if the professor overstepped his boundaries of academic freedom and whether that should be grounds for dismissal.

Also Thursday, the Board of Regents issued an apology for Churchill’s remarks at a meeting and voted to support the university’s review of Churchill.

The raucous meeting drew dozens of protesters who back Churchill; at least two were arrested for disrupting the meeting and another was led away in handcuffs.

Cold Fury
expresses similar feelings:

I’ll just say that when some serious notice finally does get taken of the ludicrous (and sometimes truly dangerous) left-wing follies going on in our colleges and universities, well, that will really be something to cheer about.

But watch out, because once that begins to happen, then the Angry Left will be fighting mad, because the way things are going, the academy will soon be all they have. The damming of the steady stream of extreme-Left bile that’s been vomited forth from the universities for all these long years is the beginning of the end for them altogether. I think we can safely assume that they know that quite well, too.

This guy is absolutely disgusting and is just more proof positive that higher education in the U.S. is overrun with leftists ideology, same as it was when I started college in ‘70, but more so. Time to clean house guys. The Berlin wall fell over 15 years ago already!

posted links to SSG Daniel Felten’s rant on statesider’s reactions to his being in the military. He responds to the mass positive reaction with the following:

I’m humbled by the response to my post Soapbox Time from yesterday. I’ve received more hits on that one rant than I usually get in a week. My most sincere appreciation to everyone for the support you’ve given me and my fellow service men and women. You are all fine Americans. Frankly, I’m a little embarrassed by the attention. A thousand thanks.

I’ve been in uniform on and off for the better part of 19 years. I’m a college graduate with a degree in Criminal Justice. In the civilian world, I’ve worked as a police officer, a business manager and an IT consultant. None of these professions, save perhaps law enforcement, gave me the day-to-day satisfaction I receive as a Soldier.

All of us in uniform, from any branch of the Armed Forces, will never get rich. We will never drive expensive cars, send our children to Harvard, or retire with millions in the bank. We do this job out of a love for this country. It sounds trite, but there it is. …”

Enough for tonight, gotta’ sleep sometime. Tomorrow! (db)
