Condi Nomination Approved by Senate Panel
The Condoleezza Rice nomination to be our next Sec. of State was approved by the Senate investigative panel today, 16-2. As you might have guessed, Babara Boxer and John Kerry were the two dissenting votes. Figures. Doesn’t matter, either!
Captian Ed has this to say:
There was a time when confirmation hearings were about the candidate’s credentials for the job and the work they had previously done, not a sideshow for empty posturing by demanding answers about troop levels from someone not serving in a military position. Unfortunately, that time seems to have passed, thanks to the firm of Kerry, Boxer, and Associates. If this is what passes for Democratic leadership, we’re going to have a fine 2006 election cycle.
Her nomination could be approved by the full Senate as soon as tomorrow, but that is not likely as some members want more time before voting. Sounds like some of the other sore-loser Democrats need to crawl up on their soapboxes, too. (db)
