CAMERON DIAZ ELECTION SCARE: ‘IF YOU THINK RAPE SHOULD BE LEGAL, THEN DON’T VOTE’: “

Thu Sep 30 2004 12:12:11 ET

On Oprah’s Wednesday ‘voting party’ show featuring important celebrities like P. Diddy (Vote or Die!), Drew Barrymore and Christina Aguilera, svelte suffragette Cameron Diaz took to shock tactics to get the female vote out.

After a discussion with Oprah on lynching and the vote, Diaz spoke of the dire consequences for women if they sit out this election:

Ms. DIAZ: We have a voice now, and we’re not using it, and women have so much to lose. I mean, we could lose the right to our bodies. . . .”

Every time I hear a pro-abortion (“Women’s Right to Choose”) advocate use the phrase “right to our bodies” it makes me sick! What they are really saying is that they feel entitled to Kill their unborn children at any time, for any reason. Don’t feel like being fat around the middle for a few months? Kill it! Don’t want to be bothered with the responsibilties of a baby? Kill it! Just had a good time one night and forgot to use birth control? Kill it! Like there aren’t other, much better solutions available.

I’m adopted. I was born in a clinic in Tulsa, OK, and went home with my “Parents” within three hours of my birth. They loved me as much, if not more, than if I had been conceived of their genetic materials. I have never been curious as to the identity or location of my genetic mother, and both my parents now having passed away, I still don’t want to know. I loved, (still love), them and can’t think of a set of parents that could have been better, blood or otherwise.

If abortion had been legal and easy to procure in 1952, I am convinced that I would not exist. My parents would not have had their dreams of parenting come true with my sister and I.

Anyone who counsels a pregnant woman, whose life is not being threatened by the pregnancy, to get an abortion instead of putting the child up for adoption, should be horribly ashamed. I have absolutely ZERO respect for this point of view. Screw Cameron Diaz and all those like her! . . . db
